Food Palace Gelato is located on a business-desolate stretch of Bathurst, north of Queen. If you didn't know it was there, you wouldn't expect to come across it (although it is much more clearly marked than this other spot in the vicinity).

This small joint makes its own creamy, all-natural Italian-style gelatos (gelati?) and real-fruit sorbets, and has a pretty impressive selection of flavours, including what it claims is the best pistachio gelato in the city (and I won't disagree). Food Palace also doesn't only offer waffle cones - it has cookie cones. Yes, you can get your white chocolate matcha gelato or strawberry sorbet scooped into an M&M or chocolate cookie in the shape of a cone. Or, if you prefer your gelato swimming in caffeine, an espresso machine is at the ready to turn your sweet treat into an affogato. Now the toughest part is deciding what you want.
