Falafel World
Falafel World makes some pretty good falafel in Bloor West Village. The shawarma on the other hand could use a bit more love. For $5.75, the shawarmas are small. Dressed like a falafel, they come with overpowering tahini sauce and key ingredients like turnips and pickels are left out entirely. The meat can be dry and underwhelming.

However, the hummus is superb!
Authentic Shawarma does not include pickled turnips (in the Middle East) - it is usually used to mask poorly-marinated meat. Falafel World is seriously the best damn shawarma I have ever had, & I've had it everywhere! Hafiz' recipe beats the pants off of the stuff I have tried anywhere else, and I am always up for a recommendation...
went for the first time today, the falafel has a general salad mix they put in, so you don't get a choice, not offered to be heated and not any better priced than anywhere else.
I was introduced to falalfel here by my husband 13 years ago and have had many different falalfels all over TO and this is still by far the best - I have a tomato allergy and they take the time to pick out the tomato from the cabbage for me - best huumus by far anywhere and best lentils and onions
as for sharwma I am vegetarian but ask my husband he has been eating Shwarma by Hafiz for years and we try other places and always come back to Falafel World - only Vita Pita in Brampton comes close(they use the same falafel recipe)
