Falafel World
Falafel World makes some pretty good falafel in Bloor West Village. The shawarma on the other hand could use a bit more love. For $5.75, the shawarmas are small. Dressed like a falafel, they come with overpowering tahini sauce and key ingredients like turnips and pickels are left out entirely. The meat can be dry and underwhelming.

Wow, I totally disagree. This is some of the best shwarma in town, especially the plates. The only place that is generous with the homemade hummous. I used to live in the area and have moved to Little Italy where there isnt a single really good shwarma place, so I often find myself back out in Bloor West just for this place. Not to mention they are crazy friendly.
I just moved to the Bloor West Village and tried this place on Monday for lunch. I had the grape leaves plate ($7.50 not bad) and found the food to be pretty good--I'll go back for lunch again to try their other items.
I have to agree with the review. I find it's better as a leftover.
However, the hummus is superb!
I live in the neighborhood. I used to play for their hockey team we won 2 years in a row. But i gotta say they have a pretty lousy excuse for a shawarma. It doesn't taste how a shawarma is supposed to. It is definitely missing key ingredients like pickled turnips. the chicken is very dry.
it would be wonderful if we actually had a great shawarma spot in the bloor west village.
