Drupati's Doubles and Roti Shop

Drupati's
Drupati's may not get the hype of better known shops like Bacchus, Island Foods or Ghandi's but the roti here is right up there with the best of them. There are lots of veggie and meat options including goat.

This place is horrible now. Their roti is very dry and their curries are disgusting. Even their doubles (which was the only thing worth eating here) are dry, and they skimp majorly on the channa.

One of the better roti establishments in Toronto and by far one of the best doubles around. The staff could use a smile or 2 on their faces though.

Are you people for real? I've been here at least 15 times now, and the doubles have never disappointed me. They're soft and absolutely delicious. I often comment that if I was served one of those at a five star restaurant I'd be happy, the flavours and textures are all perfect. Also the people are VERY friendly!! Most times I go in there are 3 or 4 other customers waiting on food, and they're usually happily chatting away with the owners and each other, everyone enjoying themselves.

I got the impression that Rick and Lady are trying to get customers for Lena's. If Drupati is so bad as they claim why are they still in business after all these years. Something got to be going good.

These responses are bogus!! Drupati's by far has the most authentic TRINIDADIAN food in the city. Lena's is related to the same family. The Scarborough location is boss too!!

I've owned/cooked in restaurants and travelled many times to the various Carribean countries including and extended stay in Trinidad to study the cuisine. Our family being from Hungary my specialty is French/Balkan cuisine but the Indian influence in Carribean cooking stands out and has become a mainstay in my culinary repertoire.

I've visited many Carribean restaurants in Toronto and the GTA during the last 30+ years and while there are many that have respectable rotis and curry dishes, Drupati's have seem to have the most authentic Trinidadian flavour and most assuredly the best "Doubles" in Canada. It rivals those I've sampled by Piarco International Airport or in southern Trinidad namely, "Debe Doubles"
