Cafe Crepe

Cafe Crepe
Cafe Crepe, just steps from the corner of Queen and John, serves fresh sweet and savoury crepes. The kitchen is right by the sidewalk so there's ample opportunities to salivate while waiting for the Queen streetcar.

Not sure how you can use Fresh. They used stacks of premade crepes, the time I passed by. The summer I went in, I had some pretty high expectations since this was there speciality and I had just spent the summer in France. I was really surprised when they open a lid with premade crepes.

You may want to change your right up or visit them again.

yeah they are premade...nobody knows what fresh really means anymore..the fact that it was made to order does not imply fresh.Few people cook for themselves either so more reasons for being stunned in the brain when it comes to knowing about food. Most restaurants and other eateries use food premade food from a white plastic bucket or frozen and wrapped in plastic and shoved in a cardboard box. and yes its very clever of them to let the aroma waft into the street. Personally i would never eat from a place like that..you're taking your life in your hands eating from street vendors and this place is pretty much the same thing

I agree with the above comment. I was suprised how everything is from a can.... My apple filling was canned! Tremendous dissapointment!!! Having been to Paris and throughout France, these are an embarrassment!

No big deal for what you get. Got one to go and for $10 they wrap in in paper (not coated paper just paper) It leaked all over had to toss it! Much better treats in the area for under $10.

Went to Cafe Crepe the other day and was disappointed by the sparse composition. The crepe stand at Pacific Mall was much better; for roughly half of Cafe Crepe's price they throw in 3-4 times as many ingredients from the get go.

I am not sure how this place got ranked higher than Crepe a Go Go for best crepe in Toronto for Blogto's "best of " series.... Yikes

Every time I see the pile of crepes by the front window I cringe. I tried them years ago and don't see a reason to go back as long as they still have those pre-made crepes

I was at the cafe the other day and sort of knew what I wanted but then the barista recommended a crepe that was not on the menu. He encouraged me to "create my own". After I paid, I watched the only chef on the line read the chit, go and spin a new crepe and then fill it with all the ingredients, I got excited just by watching the mozzarella cheese melt under the weight of the grilled chicken. Once I got my crepe, it was one of the tastiest meals I've had in a while that was made really fast and was pretty fresh.

Sad to hear the comments about Cafe Crepe.

I worked there as a Barrista & server when they first opened, and not only did I enjoy working there, but I definitely enjoyed the foods.

The crepes were often made as orders were placed, but there are times of the day when it got busy enough that crepes needed to be made ahead of time.

I might have to go check it out again next time I am in the city.

Loaise, and I worked together while it first opened. I to agree with Laoise, however, I don't believe we would hear these negative comments if one of the "owners" quit cafe crepe though....
The owner was also the Chef, and everything was "fresh" to its core, but other partners felt to was to much $$ .. but thats just my opinion...

Everything was fresh when I went in. You can even see them pouring the batter in to the pan...not sure what everyone else is talking about. It was delicious!

I don't get why this has so many bad reviews.

Every time I was there the crepes were made fresh, wrapped into coated paper and napkins and the service was perfect. Very nice people. I can't complain.

The service was TERRIBLE. We waved down our server twice and both times she said she will be right with us. We waited, but she never came back. Ended up ordering with someone else that was very impolite. I'm never going back.

My family and I went the the crepe cafe for breakfast yesterday. The drinks were amazing; teas, coffees and juices were all delightful. The ambiance was great. Most people I went with chose the breakfast baguette or vegetarian egg and cheese crepes. My fresh baguette sandwich could not have been more delicious. I pride myself on making a good breakfast at home, and whenever I go out for breakfast/brunch, I always have the impression that I could have made this at home. This breakfast baguette on the other hand ... Is quite possibly the best breakfast I've ever had.
