Brazen Head
Brazen Head is a two-story traditional Irish Pub in Liberty Village. There's plenty of room, big screen TVs and traditional Irish pub food.

I had big hopes for this place, but the food sucks. No taste, overcooked, you name it, this place has it. I like a busy bar as it adds to the vibe, but when they cheap out on staffing the bar and the waitresses have to work large areas, it's not appealing to go back.

My wife and I had brunch at Brazen. Great food but somewhat slow service. (I don't know why most restaurants in Toronto have at least one waiter or waitress that are really good at avoiding their tables either via eye contact or other evasive techniques.)

Hasn't this place only been open for a few months? Strange it's already one of Toronto's Best. I prefer a Pub with a bit of history to it.

Prospective patrons should note that this place does not hire male servers, only food runners (a position that receives a significantly lower tip out). It is essentially the Irish Pub version of Hooters.

Also, the food has consistently been sub par on all my visits.

I have not had a bad meal there yet. By far one of my Fav Pubs. But why did they take Moosehead off the taps???

It is hard to believe that the owners of this place are the same as Mill Street, Murphy's Law etc.
I understand that they offer pub fare but it had to be my second worst eating experience in Toronto.I was with a group of friends and each one of us had our apps delivered at different times.Asked the server for a glass of water and when it arrived it was a glass of water.....no ice no lime no lemon. One of my guests asked for ice water and once again a plain glass of water.
The bison burger (slidders ) must of been killed years ago , saw dust between two buns is a close discription.
If they think that this place is going to be their flag ship location they are way off.
This is another pet peeve of mine .....I am a big tipper (15 to 18%) but when there is NO INTERACT and you have to use one of their machines which costs me between 3 and 4 dollars.I will be taking that away from the server, your servers are the key individuals in your business.

When 4 out of 5 friends are disappointed with their meals, it says something about the place. I don't think I'd go back (to eat, anyhow).

We recently took our friends from England here. Their first comment when walking into this place:

"Isn't this an Irish pub? Then why are the waitresses wearing Scottish kilts?"

They need to replace their "seat yourself / please wait to be seated" stand at the entrance...it nearly took off one of my toes today as the sign isn't attached to the stand, it just hangs on it...nice welcome!!! I wonder where else they are cutting costs in this place...looks like all the money was spent on the construction.

I sat down for a late lunch one day and they sat me in a section on the patio that wasn't even open! I saw 4 servers about 10 different times and not one of them got around to my table in 25 minutes. I'm a server myself, so i had a little bit of patience, but 25 minutes is absolutely ridiculous. AGREED, worst service EVERRRRRRRRRR! Except for the Server named MATT! ask for his section if you ever go.

I've been here on several occasions and have on most of those occasions found mould on my food. The waiting staff and even the manager weren't apologetic and didn't offer me any kind of compensation

Worst place. Tried to flag down the waitress for our cheque. She looked at me, and walked right by. WTF? This place's a dump.

I go to the Brazen Head regularly, the staff are phenomenal and always go out of their way to make me feel at home, most even know me by name now and I usually have a drink delivered to me before I even order one, they know what I like. Sometimes, I will admit the service can falter, but this is usually on TFC days or concert days when everyone comes in at once. All in all though, I've never been disappointed, its always a friendly place and they have some great menu items and lots of beers on tap.

This place fits perfectly into the neighbourhood of Abercrombies. Its like little Mississauga in the heart of the city. Avoid or go the real thing in the real suburbs.

Brazen Head has the same medicocre food as a franchaise quick-serve joint but it is charging upscale gastropub prices.
Nobody with any tastebuds would eat there a second time.
Queen and King streets are both teeming with so many better restaurants and pubs. Don't get sucked into this place, it's all style and no substance.

Expensive lukewarm food, painfully slow service, and it's been this way for years. I went there with my parents after the bike show last year. I ordered a pint of Tuborg, but got a Hoegarten. If you are familiar with beer you'd know that Hoegarten is a distinctive beer that's got a naturally cloudy hue. The waiter swore that I bad Tuborg and even took it to the bar for a second opinion, and brought it back swearing it was the right beer. Being a Hoegarten fan, I kept it. But really. Then last night, the season opener of the TFC, they would not put on the sound for the game. I'm finished with that place!

I went there for brunch with a group of friends. It did take a while for our food to arrive, but we showed up without reservations and they were quite busy as it was. The server was perfectly courteous and the food was great! I'm confused by all the complaints, but I guess it depends on what day you go.

Just went there for the first time, as I'm new to Liberty Village. Awful. Tasteless food, terribly slow and thoughtless service, and a mediocre atmosphere. I'll typically give a place a couple tries, but I've absolutely no desire to give this place a second chance. Really, really not good.

I have no idea how somebody who knows anything about beer could get Hoegarten and Tuborg confused, both in look, smell, AND taste. They are 100% completely different. Hoegarten is citrusy and comes off as a weak belgium white. Tuborg is skunky, like grolsch.

Worst. Service. Ever.

I had gone to this pub a couple times when I first moved to the area in 2009/2010 and had raved to everyone how great the food was. I finally made my way back there after trying the numerous other places around and was surprised at how awful the food tasted...only explanation is that the cooks were probably changed? Service was horrible...the bill was brought before we even finished our meals. Never again going or recommending his place.

The food is below average and unfortunately the service is also mediocre. I wish they were a better pub for Liberty Village I would go there again. After too many dissapointments we avoid it because we expect a bit more, however, it is an okay option for the area. Great location, cool building.

Now, I have never been here, eaten their food, or even seen the building... And I am certainly no food critic like McNeil. But when I ask for water and it shows up as WATER, I just leave. Come on people, FLARE!!! Fruit, Umbrellas, Ice, Food colouring, Decorative glasses. It Doesn't have to be just water, it's an experience. I myself am partial to cucumbers as an accent flavour. Not all locations have that, I guess the Brazen Head doesn't live up to my standards but what does really?

Their motto should be "Hurry up and get out". Obviously the service level comes from the top. Sad as this place has so much potential. My guess, money is made by default because of location to BMO field, liberty village congestion and a younger population willing to put up with a sub-par experience in exchange for convenience.

Never had anything but fries at the Brazen Head so I won't comment on food but the atmosphere is pretty good during soccer and hockey games.

I came to Brazen head Saturday morning for a brunch reservation we had for 15 people to celebrate my 25th birthday. This place is very nice, we sat on the rooftop patio and had a great table set up. Our service started out great and our server even asked my name and said she would bring me something for my birthday. Unfortunately our servers got switched because someone called in sick. I have been in the food industry since I was 14 years old, so I know how this business should be run, and this restaurant seemed to have no idea how run this place. Our new server was the most inattentive server I have ever been served by, she acted like we were inconveniencing her. An hour and a half after we were there, we still hadn't had our second round of drinks and our food was no where to be seen. At least if the kitchen is backed up, (which is bound to happen of course) the servers should be on top of drinks, keeping us happy. When it was 2 hours in, one of my friends went to look for a manager, she waited ten minutes to see someone and no one was around. When our food finally started arriving, which was cold by now, a manager came out to see us. Someone in our group pulled him aside and let him know our displeasure, looking for at least an apology but got nothing. The male manager had nothing to say except 'well I guess this is my fault'. The rest of the servers were just standing around, one was even juggling. After finally receiving all correct meals, after a few were brought out incorrectly we immediately asked for the bills. After correcting our bills which were also split incorrectly, waiting to pay, the manager walked passed us numerous times with nothing to say at all. The two servers helping us with our bills acted as if we had done something wrong.

Needless to say, our server could have easily made a decent tip off of our table, we set her up for success. We spent 3 hours at this place, and were an hour and a half late for beerfest. I would never recommend this place to anyone I know, nor will I ever return.
