All Star Wings and Ribs

Posted by Staff / Listed on December 5, 2008 / review policy

All Star Wings and RibsAll Star Wings and Ribs is the self-proclaimed "hottest spot in Richmond Hill and Markham". They offer an outrageous number of wing flavours to choose from. I'm not sure how anyone stumbles onto a favorite amongst hundreds, but the recommended ones go down really well. They are pure fatty battered, crunchy on the outside and hella tasty.

I think that photo is of Caesar Does Texas which is the best flavour on the menu. Worth the trip to Richmond Hill.

Nero's Epilogue is undoubtedly the best flavour at All Star's.

What many don't realize is that AllStar now does 3 types of wings:
breaded, Unbreaded (pub style-still fried)called Lord of the Wing and Grilled called King of the Wing!!!!
The first 2 available in AllStar's 156 flavors and the grilled wings in the house BBQ.

This wing joint WAS by far one of the best wings in Toronto. It was my default place to get my wing fix. HOWEVER, recently I realized their wings have shrunk very noticeably. I don't know if the owners have gone cheap and stingy but I'm hoping they go back to their original wings.

Wings haven't shrunk. It happens a couple of times of year nothing can be done about that it is not done intentionally. I sure you will find they are back to normal.

Are the wings here in this joint the HOTTEST???? I need to know as we have a challenge for a co-worker to eat the hottest wing in town. We've been to Duffs this weekend and tried the Armageddon and he ate it like a "CHAMP"....
Are your Wings hotter than Duffs??? Let me know and we'll be there...

I used to enjoy all-stars just as much as duffs until i learned that nearly half of they're 100 flavors involve ranch or caeser dressing which is disgusting. A few wings are great but you'll feel like you wanna crap your pants and die the next day if you eat a full order. We asked for Armageddon and they couldn't make it for us because (they didn't have the supplies). A bomb and H bomb are kinda hot but not even close to Duffs Death which i eat regularly. The last time i went the wings were so greasy it was dripping off my hand on to the table and the fries were floating in a pool of grease. If you go past midnight you're likely to be treated like crap by the waitresses who obviously think they're all models. All-Stars is just a money pit for teenagers or young adults to go and get wasted and have fun picking out stupid wing flavors.

To answer your question no, nothing compares to Duffs Armageddon. Those are some badass wings i had some last week. I split 10 with my buddy thats as far as i go. Otherwise i've eaten over 15 death which happen to be my all time favourite.

Tom - are you a manager at All Star? :)

Correction: All stars does not serve armageddon anymore. 3 separate occasions I tried ordering it from the Jane Rutherford and Yonge Elgin Mills locations and was told they were out of the sauce.
Finally i asked a manager and she told me they were discontinued cause of too many complaints. Guaranteed just wimpy guys or kids thinking they can take the heat then they cry after.
Duff's wings is #1 in quality and heat.

All Stars wings taste good. But they are extremely slimy and greasy. On numerous occasions they were under-cooked and "floating in a bowl of grease". I think the reason all stars gets so much cred is cause of the ranch or caeser type wings that you can't really get elsewhere. These appeal to kids and people who go to these places.

When is the eaton center location opening?

I actually would disagree. I find the flavours/sauces at All Star to be bolder and more creative, but the meat itself is often dry. Wild Wing has FAR juicier wings, but less crazy sauces. So you take your pick, I guess. For me, I place a hella lot more importance in the quality of the meat itself.

Doesn't get any better then allstar. There is always variation depending on location and cook. Tons of flavors and wings can get extremely hot. Been to top posted places but this is my favorite so far. try it out.

Hello all,
I may have missed reading if someone already posted this, but will ask anyways. Can anyone confirm if All Star Wings are halal or not? Thanks

I'm sorry but All Stars is far from being in the top ten. Their flavours are pretty good with a lot of variety but when it comes to the actual meat, dry and way overcooked.
