A La TurqueA La Turque is located in the heart of the Village at Church and Wellesley. For $5.25, you get a delicious shawarma packed to the brim with tzatziki, hummus, garlic sauce and fresh vegetables. It's hot-pressed to perfection and served piping hot.

La Turque when it first opened a few years ago was a fresh addition to the neighborhood. Service was friendly and its freshness always ensured a busy crowded place. Alas, over the last year, somehow those friendly people disappeared. Service is now is cold, rude and rushed. I don't want to be friends with the people who run this place, but a smile with service goes further than the 'falafel nazi' attitude which is now the order of the day. I gave up and switched to another place with similar food around the corner because of this. I went back today to give it one more try. It will be the last time for sure. Food is tasty still, yet chicken was not freshly cut from the skewer.....but rather already cut and waiting for use, despite no crowd. Attitude was served piping hot. Never will go back.

I find the guys friendly, the food is always good and well priced. They are open until 1 or 2am (until 2 or 3am in the summer). They do keep the meat in warmers close to closing time, that is a problem.

I had their shawarma yesterday ..it was really good they have soo many different vegetable toppings ..and they have hummus ,taboole they put in sandwich with no extra charge ...they warm your sandwich and the portions were big ...and the service was friendly...

Ola,i know this place because i used to worK here more than one year.u GUYS U HAVE TO TRY this place SPACIALY FRIDAY AND SATURDAY Knights AFTER LASTCALL.I m sure u are gonna love this sandwich and it comes with extra toppings and no extra charge...
what u looking for :clean,fresh,friendly servers,polite owner {yucel)and greats sandwichs ...

yes guys, you definitely should try it, i have worked there too around 1,5 years. the partners and boss friendly, the food is always fresh and hot!!!

do not forget to want more toppings, it is always for free:)

I completely agree with Blair. I got to know the owner quite well when he was working there and the food was always great. Now there's constant turnover of workers and they seem to be getting worse and worse. One of the biggest shawarma sins is pre-shaving the meat and leaving it under the heat. It kills the flavour.

I'll still stop in once in a while to see if things have gotten better because the quality of the ingredients is top notch, but you need an employee who actually cares so that the final product is top notch.

This is the best Shawarma in Toronto. It's also the biggest, with the most different ingredients and sauces. I find the guys working there quite friendly and polite.

I would say these days they serve an average product at best. It was one of the better shawarma places the first couple of years just after they opened.I think nowdays the owner is more interested in his huge black Escalade that's parked in front of the restaurant.

Based of this listing on BlogTo, I picked up four Shawarma from A La Turque for myself and my family. It was the most disgusting food iv eaten. Two things i've learned as a result.
1. Try things before you recommend them.
2. Reconsider trusting listings from a website that boats about restaurants it has no experience with. It was nieve of me to take a recommendation from a website that hosts no objective rating system.

What a joke!

Tyler, you do not seem to be fair. How come you criticize reviewers? I and my friends actually love their shawarma and falafel. They have amazing plate shawarma. Will go there again.

I will not eat there again. I won't bother to complain about how long I waited for my lunch order, considering there was only one person working at the time, but said person prepared the shawarma, handled my cash, and touched the revoltingly dirty register using the same pair of gloves. Disgusting! He didn't bother to change gloves in between orders either.
