A La Turque is located in the heart of the Village at Church and Wellesley. For $5.25, you get a delicious shawarma packed to the brim with tzatziki, hummus, garlic sauce and fresh vegetables. It's hot-pressed to perfection and served piping hot.

La Turque when it first opened a few years ago was a fresh addition to the neighborhood. Service was friendly and its freshness always ensured a busy crowded place. Alas, over the last year, somehow those friendly people disappeared. Service is now is cold, rude and rushed. I don't want to be friends with the people who run this place, but a smile with service goes further than the 'falafel nazi' attitude which is now the order of the day. I gave up and switched to another place with similar food around the corner because of this. I went back today to give it one more try. It will be the last time for sure. Food is tasty still, yet chicken was not freshly cut from the skewer.....but rather already cut and waiting for use, despite no crowd. Attitude was served piping hot. Never will go back.
