Video of the Union Station flood

Posted by Derek Flack / June 1, 2012

As you might have heard by now, Union Station is having a little bit of flood problem right now. What it's hard to get a sense of from all the tweets and TTC Notices is just how bad it is. These videos from Nick Vasil, on the other hand, show that off quite well. Don't go chasing waterfalls... Best bet is to try an alternate route on your way home.

Using one of the doors that is not flooded would be my suggestion.

Is this caused by the Union Station renos? I don't remember the moat flooding like this in previous storms.

Remember kids, turn your phone sideways to shoot video. Video shot in portrait mode end up with crappy letter boxes.

Why is this happening so often? It's not even raining an exceptional amount.

Read on another site that a sewer main broke. Was wondering what was going on in this video too.

How hard is it to hold your fucking phone the right way to take a video?

Is your hand incapable of rotating 90°?

People with iPhones don't need to turn their phone sideways. Watch the video with your iPhone or iPod and you'll be able to see very clearly.
And stop bitching, I don't see any of you taking videos of the flood.

Maybe some of those LRT haters could explain how maintenance of subway is way cheaper again...
