Calico Cafe closes its doors

Posted by Derek Flack / November 15, 2010

Calico Cafe ClosesCalico Cafe, the popular vegetarian/vegan restaurant in Bloordale, has closed its doors. Chef Jared Davis told NOW Magazine that he's "taken the position of personal chef to a prominent family here in Toronto," which means deadpool for his cafe.

Although a confidentiality agreement forbids the chef from disclosing who his new employer is, he did reveal that "He's not old money or anything like that. He's young but he keeps to himself."

How mysterious -- and, if you loved Calico, sad.

This is a shame - such a nice little cafe. The area really needs more businesses like this. With our luck we'll get yet another Cash for Gold store.

Hey, if I were rich, I'd have done the same - as it was, I enjoyed a couple years of Jared's food delivery service. His food was outstanding, and will be sorely missed.
