Toronto Humane Society to re-open today

After that weekend, I think we all need a bit of good news.

Though the OSPCA has cancelled their Newmarket adoption blitz, The Toronto Humane Society is set to finally re-open its doors at 11:30 this morning.

The THS has been closed since mid-April for restructuring. A police raid in November and subsequent investigation revealed a "house of horrors" of animal neglect (remember the mummified cat?) and former board members face charges of animal negligence. A new board was appointed in May.

About 25 cats and kittens will be available for adoption today. The Victoria Park branch is set to open later this week.
