Ever had an organic truffle like thing called a bonbon? I had my first one from Fiesta Farms and it was made locally in Etobicoke at Sitting Around Eating Bon Bons. OH MY ... heaven ... and it's dairy free too.

This supermarket rocks! I used to live in the neighbourhood and loved the wide selection of products from around the world, i.e. Italian, South American, Portuguese, Middle Eastern, Asian, etc. In the summer they offer local produce (LFP) from Ontario farmer's. They also carry a wide selection of alternative products for people with dietary restrictions. They carry organic meat, fish, dairy and eggs. An extensive chocolate selection from organic to fair trade to dairy-free to exotic and unusual combinations of chocolate. I really miss this place!! Be forewarned...a lot of the specialty gourmet products, international packaged foods (i.e British marmalade for $9.99) and organic meats/fish is expensive!

Among the wide range of nutritious and locally made products that Fiesta Farms carries there is a brand name called "Perfect Taste" in their international section. They produce the best curry sauce, mango ginger chutney, dry rub (to die for!!), curry powder and delicious hot sauce I have ever tasted. And these are all gluten-free, nut-free and preservative-free. These locally made products are worth a try!!

It's a great store, but the Owner Joe Virgona seems to treat his staff like crap. The way he lashes out at the cashiers is disgusting when it appears that they are doing their job and not just sitting around doing nothing.

Wow, I shop at FF 3-4 times a week and have never seen this.

Also, you'll note that the cashiers and staff are THE SAME people.. if they were so poorly treated, don't you think they'd get a job at Loblaws? (Where you'll never even see the same employee twice)

FF has the most helpful staff I've ever seen in a grocery store.

I agree with Balu ... I've seen the store manager/owner go off on staff for no real reason and in front of customers ...if you have something to say to your staff don't make your customers cringe while they shop ... also the produce never looks fresh ... so for those two reasons I no longer shop there.

Sure it's not under the established umbrella of Whole Foods' chain stores nor Big Carrots' finest consciousness, but isn't it good to have some independent alternatives in your own neighbourhood like this? Produce looks pretty good to me everytime I go there. You just need to know what's good yourself. Staff are decent and helpful when you need assistance. At least this place is far more genuinely people-owned than pretty WF and bland l*bl*ws or m**ro. The store arrangement (inside and outside remnescent of 7-up factory) is a little wacky but I like that. I hope they won't spend extra money pampering up this place to make it look like one of those places. This is just a neighbourhood grocery store doing its best and that's the reason why I shop here. Their bakery and meat sections are pretty good. Garden centre is fun too. I'm happy to continue my after-work grocery shopping here (they're open until 9pm on weekdays) rather than 24-hour open monsters.
