Daniel et Daniel

Daniel et DanielDaniel et Daniel might make most of their money from their catering business but their small food shop in Cabbagetown is worth a visit for their freshly prepared sandwiches, muffins and other daily gourmet treats.

Daniel et Daniel is over-rated. Everything in their shop is overpriced, their coffee is often stale, and many of their pastries often taste "eggy". Their "gourmet food" is sold cold, so really you're getting leftovers AND it's not always fresh. If a dish doesn't sell out the day it's made, they just put it in a smaller serving dish the next day and the day after at the same price as "fresh" until it's sold. Oh and their coffee cups often leak.

I could not disagree more with Matt's review. The coffee is fresh and the croissants pastries are some of the city's best!
sure the food is served cold (from deli cases) but that's the idea isn't it? you buy what you want and they take it home and heat it up, or if you want it hot ask the staff to heat it up for you. I don't know about the coffee cups I've never had it happen though.
