This health food store has a good selection of bulk items, tasty homemade baked treats and vegetarian sushi rolls.

This store is a rip off - they charge double what Essence of Life charges in the Market - pure greedy opportunists.

ACTUALLY ... this place is AMAZING. I go a few times a week. and the owner is so friendly! Definitely recommend it to everyone and the prices are standard ... I pay the same for items at Noah's and at the grocery store. Try the Gluten free, vegan, "energy cookie" ... you'll be a hooked regular for sure after that!

The worst Natural food store in Toronto. Has no selection whatsoever. Prices are through the roof and the manager is rude. I asked him to considering bringing in some earthling organic unbaked bars and he told me to go somewhere else instead of accomodating me. HORRIBLE STORE!!!!!

wow... ive heard this manager was rude but didnt experience anything myself. My guess was cause he recognized me. I just made a call to esquire if he had a peppermint essential oils, he huffed and answered Yes. Then i asked him if he could confirm the price as i also heard how high he charges and i wanted to compare before heading down. I am down with the Flu so i didnt want to go check in person. He replied with "we dont do price check for customers". I replied with "excuse me? " he repeats.. only for me to answer with "how do you expect customers to know the price" , "come in and check it out yourself" he replies..

I immediately laughed , said that he was hilarious and proceeded to hang up..

This store is extremely rude. I called to ask if they carry any ShaSha Co. products and he said No, and hung up on me abruptly. That was my first and last attempt in dealing with this store.

i am now in my 10th year shopping at appletree natural foods on queen street west

the only reason i felt i had to refer to it's location is because the extreme rude and negative comments posted here must be about another store

tony who runs this store is amongst the most conscientious and friendly owners of a store i've patronized

he has gone out of his way countless times to help me, generously deliver to my door when i was ill and couldn't come in – deferring payment trusting me as i do him, implicitly

i have no stake in this store other than the fact i love to shop there and his selection speaks to me in particular

the worst comment posted here truly sounds like it's coming from a very self-centered narcissist who couldn't believe a store manager wouldn't take his opinion as gospel and promise a non-regular patron to stock a particular item

my god... find another store and shut up

and notice i have posted my full name... this store rocks!

cheers, michael

Ya, don't know where the negative comments are coming from. I've shopped here on and off for years. The owners is kind and extremely helpful. Remembers his customers and will go above and beyond to get them anything they need if he doesn't have it. They HAVE to be talking about another store. I can't ever imagine the owner being rude. Just doesn't seem possible.
Had to say something...

Tony, rude? Never. They obviously have the wrong store. The owners are so considerate that they even deliver to my store a few doors down when I'm too busy and can't get away to get my daily dose of fresh-made sushi. I love the "neighbourhoody" feel and the prices are just fine.

The service here is amazing. I always get a warm greeting as soon as I step in and the owner, Tony, knows all the regulars by name. Love coming here for some fresh made noodles or sushi almost on the daily. The smoothies are to die for not to mention super reasonably priced. You can find all your essentials here and if there's something you're looking for not in stock, Tony will always offer to order it in for you.
