Clean facilities , nice looking, and very nice changing rooms. Decent set of workout equipment, some more dated than others. TV's on mute in the cardio room, and normally there's enough Ellipticals and Treadmills free. Haven't seen them all taken at the same time yet. Lots of bikes as well.
The upstairs has the workout room for lifting (and a similar sized room for working on legs).
If you're a woman- this gym will probably be great for you. They have a huge womens area (which I barely noticed until I realized it wasn't a mirror on the wall, but a window).
Also it's a very LGBT friendly gym.
Last thing... I didn't like their sales approach, it felt very sales-like and unwelcoming. They offer you 'towel service' for $10 a month extra, and when you decline they say 'Have it for free'. Ha... that's because everyone gets it for free. They just get some to pay a wasted monthly $10. Kind of a bad approach to take with your clients.
Overall it's a yes for me. It will get you in shape and looking good if you want it to. Way cheaper than Extreme too. (seems like under $500 for the year.).
The price is also right, and not a complete nightmare to figure out or get out of. The owner is approachable, and also seems to know many of the members.
This gym is 100% in my top 10 places in Toronto. I also love that it is local- I find very little "pressure," from others in terms of fitness, even among those who are professional. Other members have been very helpful in the past when I was first joining.
Even if I move elsewhere in the city, I would come to the area just for this gym.
(Very accessible from Wellesley and Bloor subways!)
