Toronto Athletic Club

Posted by Staff / Posted on May 4, 2012

Toronto Athletic ClubThe Toronto Athletic Club has lake views and a 38th floor penthouse pool that deservedly draw the suit-wearing Bay street crowd. There's a large spinning studio with flat screens for virtual touring, squash courts, and a restaurant that will make you feel like you're in the first class lounge at the airport (in a good way). Annual fees start at $1320, while initiation fees vary but start at $250.

I joined this club for a year and I just quit. I have to say that they push you really HARD to buy multi-session package as soon as you become a member, and when the trainers realize that you're not interested they stop being friendly. There is no place where to sit, have something to eat, rest, and chat before or after working out,and most of the classes are boring. This gym is overrating.

Hi Stephanie,

Thank you very much for the feedback. We value all opinions as they help us to create coaching opportunities and continually improve the overall member experience. While many of our members choose to take advantage of personal training, this service is completely optional and we would never want anyone to feel pressured into purchasing sessions.

You will be happy to know, as a result of our member’s feedback, the club has just renovated Stratus restaurant to include a bar/lounge space for our members to sit and chat, have a coffee/after work drinks, read the paper or just relax. We’ve introduced a smoothie and coffee bar as well, which can be taken to go. We would love to invite you back in for a visit to have a drink, on us!

We would really like the opportunity to chat further to have you back at the Club as our guest and invite you to contact our membership department directly at the club. 416.865.0900

Kind Regards,
TAC Team

Absolutely the best managed facility in the city
of toronto. Conduct of staff beyond reproach.
Cleanliness is perfect. Restaurant brand new
And very busy with members and non members. The equipment is all new and latest
Edition. Staff reaches out to get to know your
Name and what makes you tick.
The sports clinic has to be one of the best in the country. Chris broadhurst of the toronto
Maple leafs works there.
This place is not for the average pedestrain.
I don't think they want them in there.
This club has link privileges to other clubs
and boutique hotels all over the world
The owner is present and responsive.
That says it all.
As usual, parking is an issue.

I would have to disagree with Stephanie, this club is not overrated at all. I had left TAC to join Equinox due to the fact I had to live in NYC for a year. When I would come back and visit I would workout at the Equinox here. I can honestly say the reason I came back to TAC was mainly because of the staff but also the health centre, equipment and location. it is too bad Stephanie experienced that but I felt the same experience at Equinox. To each his/her own. My experiences at TAC are definitely two thumbs up!
