SpyngaSpynga = Spinning + Yoga. An unlikely pair, maybe? Surprisingly, the hybrid makes perfect sense. Peppy co-owner Casey drills me through intense military-style spinning ("Sit! Lift! Sit!") then brings me back to earth through serene yoga stretches ("Namaste."). The vibe here is pretty and feminine, but don't be fooled: you will sweat.

Best for: women, yogis, stress-release

Soundtrack: Leading ladies of pop: Gaga, Katy, Fergie.

Am I blind? I can't find the location of this studio. where abouts is it?
GL replying to a comment from Alyson / August 19, 2010 at 11:04 pm
They are in the same mini plaza as the catering company.
If you are coming up from Bloor St W. they are on the right hand side, just at the fork in the road, (opposite the church) and before St. Clair W.
First floor I believe

This place is a scam, they hire illegal immigrants to Canada who do not have their paper work and they also do not pay half their staff, they call them "volunteers" and make them work long hours. This isn't right!
Jason replying to a comment from Justice / March 3, 2014 at 10:09 pm
Spynga is actually a great fitness studio with super nice staff (all fluent in English... didn't see anyone illegal looking lol) and I must say they have top notch spinning teachers - I sweat it out big time! I would highly recommend checking this place out for spin classes! There free parking across the street. The also have a few locations.

Enjoyed my first Spynga class yesterday. Great workout to fast energetic music. Good vibe in the class with great instruction. The added yoga was a great way to finish a high intensity workout. Would definitely do it again - great challenge!

I had my first SPYNGA class on Wednesday, and it was a really great workout! The studio is nice and clean, the girl at the reception was efficient and friendly, and the teacher was great!
I would recommend the studio to anybody who is serious about fitness!

Unlike anything else! I had my first spinning class ever yesterday; it exceeded all expectations, and overcame all fears. The instructor Kacey Siskind exhuded a sincere, uplifting, affirming, healing energy - revving us right up! Thankfully as far from a drill sergaent as possible. The admin staff was very sweet and helpful, too. I highly recommend the studio

I went to my first Spynga class this week and it was great! The studio was really clean and friendly. The instructor was informative and helped me improve my yoga postures. Highly recommended to all yoga and spinner lovers!

A lovely bright studio! I took the restorative yoga class with Josh, and he was very nice and explained everything clearly. I'd like to try the spynga classes next, they seem to be really popular!

Went to Body Sculpt on Sunday and boy did it kick my butt! A great mix of cardio, strength training, stretching... all in a high-octane environment. The instructor (Jodi) did a great job and i will be back!

I went to my first Restorative Yoga class last night at Spynga. The instructor was warm, welcoming and helpful and the class was absolutely incredible. The poses gave me good stretches without aggravating my injuries, and the class was relaxing. Thanks for a great first experience!

I went to Spynga for the first time last night, and was immediately greeted by a very friendly woman at the front desk who made me feel at ease and right at home. It can be daunting trying out a new yoga place because they can feel cliquey, but Spynga doesn't feel like that all. I did a vinyasa yoga class, and I really enjoyed it. Afterwards I felt like I challenged my body but also felt very relaxed. I definitely look forward to my next class there!

I just had my first spin class yesterday at Spynga and it was great! The staff was really friendly and helpful in getting me all set up. The rates are very reasonable and I look forward to going back!

I had my first spinning class after a very long break due to sciatica. My daughter referred me as she goes often and as a Sports Therapist , she could highly recommend Spynga. The class was invigorating and I received a lot of personal attention. I felt welcomed right away before signing in.it is a great environment . I will definitely go back.

I have been looking for a yoga studio in my neighbourhood for a while and so decided to check out Spynga. I found the Vinyasa Yoga class was the perfect mix of challenging and relaxing. The studio was also clean and bright. The perfect start to my Sunday morning!

A great place for new moms to workout! Do the class while your baby is taken care of by the staff, but in the same room as you so you can always keep an eye on your baby. The classes are challenging - they will definitely help me lose the extra 'baby' weight!

A great place for a good workout! The staff was very friendly and nice. The length of the spin class I did was just right and is perfect for people of all fitness levels. There are a variety of classes offered at Spynga and I will definitely be back to try out some more!

I feel fortunate to have been able to take a Vinyasa class with Jeannine Woodall who is a gifted teacher. The class while popular, felt surprisingly intimate. The staff and the space were warm and inviting and the class was filled with considerate people. I am so glad that I was able to attend a class here and I know I will be back soon and often.

Have attended a Body Scuplt class with Jodi, which was an great workout, and suited to different workout/strength levels with the number of varying weights on hand. Also tried a Spynga Flow (spinning+yoga) with Amy. Amazing! It was my first try with a spin class, and I'm looking forward to the next one already. It's a bright, clean studio space, with towel service. I'm glad I bought a 20-pack so I can try the different classes on offer. They have an app too, which makes it really quick and easy to check the schedule and register for classes.

I did my first baby and mom Spynga class yesterday and it was AMAZING! The workout and music and instructor were all top notch but what really impressed me was how attentive they were with our babies. If your baby cries--not a problem--they just pick her up and keep teaching the class. I thought it was going to be stressful with my baby there but they take care of everything for you. All you have to do is workout. Great job Spynga!

A great spot to workout! I went to my first cycling class last week at Spynga. It was easy to book the class online, and the staff were very helpful and showed me how to setup my bike properly. The class was both fun and challenging. I'm looking forward to checking out other classes that they offer.

had a great time

I went to my first spynga yoga class last night. The studio was beautiful, the staff was super helpful in showing me around, and most importantly it was a great class. The teacher was clear and easy to follow, and she catered the class everyone's needs offering alternate poses for those who required. I will definitely return.

Enjoyed my first Spynga class yesterday. I had a great workout to great music. I am not new to spinning but have not been on a spin bike for the last 6 months. The instructor was great and the staff helped set me up with no fuss. So happy to find a studio in the neighbourhood that is reasonably priced and easy to get to (only 3 minute walk south from St. Clair/Bathurst). Looking forward to more classes at Spynga!

Had a great experience at the body sculpt class at Spynga. Jodi knew just how to motivate and keep me moving. Great location and very friendly staff.

I attended the mom and baby spin class this week. It was an excellent experience! The workout was great, and best of all, the instructor focused on the babies so the moms could get in a solid workout. I will be making this class a part of my weekly workout routine now. Recommended for moms that want a serious workout.

Went to Spynga yesterday and had a great experience. The music was really great and I loved the pace. I have tried lots of other spin classes and find the instructor really makes the class. It was really enjoyable and will be going back today!

Went to my first spinning/yoga class at Spynga last week and it was really good. Amy, the instructor, was really nice and helped me set up. As a beginner, it was definitely tough but I felt no pressure to push myself beyond what I could handle. I enjoyed the fact that the spinning was 30 minutes and the yoga followed after for another 3o minutes. This allowed me to cool down and relax after the more intense spinning beforehand.

I also attended a Vinyasa yoga class the following Saturday that was held by Sari. It was a mix of people at different levels but the postures covered were doable throughout most of 1.15hrs. Amy wasn't instructing but checked in with me after the class to ask how I found it (as a shyer person and attending a new studio, I really appreciated this).

I'll definitely be back for both the yoga and the spinning!

Wow, I just had my first spynga (cycle butt) class yesterday and it was amazing. The instructor, Shira, was extremely friendly, helpful and encouraging throughout a pretty intense and challenging workout! It's worth trying if you enjoy cycling! I can't wait to come back again.

Yin yoga and honey yoga were truly divine..fun instructor and participants, too! Will surely return soon!

Went to my first spynga class yesterday. It was fantastic. Amazingly friendly staff and instructor. The studio had a lot of amenities and a great set-up. Quite intensive spinning, so 30 minutes was the perfect amount. The yoga was active but still a great cool down. Overall a great workout. They have a variety of other classes too and I definitely recommend trying them out.

My first Spynga experience was the "body SCULPT" class. The instructor was motivating, which was great because the work out was challenging. I look forward to exploring the other offerings here!
Corry / August 20, 2014 at 02:00 pm
I went to my first Spynga class this week and, from beginning to end, the entire experience has been wonderful. The staff are so friendly--they obviously care about making everyone feel welcome. My first class (uh, ever) was "body SCULPT" and our instructor was great--she was motivational without pushing too far. I came out exhausted but strangely elated.

I've always been anti-formal exercise, but the Spynga experience has defied my expectations of what "working out" means. The studio and staff are warm and friendly and the workout didn't make me wish I was dead. Who knew?! I'm a convert and I'm going back.
Hannah / August 22, 2014 at 02:00 pm
Went to Spynga for my first ever spin class recently. The staff was SUPER friendly - I was met with a smile as soon as I walked in the door - and very helpful. They helped to get me set up on a bike and made sure I was comfortable. I'll be going back for sure.

Spynga south provides an amazing workout for new moms. The super friendly staff watch your baby (in the same room) so you can focus on your workout. The instructors are excellent and you end up with a great workout. I've yet to encounter anything comparable in Toronto. I highly recommend it!

I went to my first ever spinning class at spynga yesterday and boy am I feeling it today!! It was so much fun that I couldn't believe it when the class was over! Looking forward to my next spinning class! I may become a spinning convert!

I had the best class at Spynga and have been going twice a week now. I look forward to the classes each week so much! The Barre class is amazing and Elizabeth is the best instructor I have had.
Ali / September 15, 2014 at 12:18 pm
I've just had my first class at Spynga south and absolutely loved it. The staff are so friendly and approachable - since it was my first time on a spin bike they took the time to make sure I was well oriented and after class it was easy to talk to the instructor about how I found the class and modifications I might make to enhance my personal practice. Spinning + Yoga really is a great combination - I left feeling like I had a great workout and generally happy with my experience there. So glad I decided to try it out!
