the trainers, well the staff are ALWAYS trying to sell you stuff, avoid it at all costs it's overated and a waste, they said they need to add 200$ a month for me just for a notebook and just to teach me how to use equipment -.- oh please

I just joined the club, they promised all kind of classes, but nothing was done for a month and a half. All they have at evening - Zumba classes with no viriety at all. Even so, our class was canceled 4 times, as teacher didn't show up.
Don't waist your money!

They Always run out of towels everyday during after working hours, And always the reason that they are very busy, While their just talking about personal things and texting. And inside the change room, lots of towels everywhere. Not maintained properly, Yes it's overrated.

Just quit this gym yesterday after 2 plus years. Found out that we (my spouse and myself)were paying WAY more than other members. Was told we could " Buy Down" to pay what other members are paying. Phoned LA Fitness Headquarters in California as management here not empowered to make a decision. Agent in California was bored and utterly disinterested even though I offered to stay if they waived the rip-off/buy-down. Be very careful before you join this place. Cathy, the operations manager was pleasant but unable to help. On a scale of 1-10, its a strong 3.

Sadly, my experience with LA fitness has been exremely frustrating. After 3 months, I am quitting this facility. The staff ask you to communciate with the headquarters in California, the restrooms are disgusting. Showers are stained with mildew, and filthy. Broken faucests are not fixed. Rubbish is found on the floor. The trainers act like they are skilled and act like they are to busy for you and that you are an inconvenience. Everyone this trilled to have you join initially and then you realize that it is nothing more than a gimmick to have you join. Everyone puts pressure on you to encourage you to purchase things you are not interested in, and it is frustrating and a waste of money. I regret not having joined Goodlife initially of even the YMCA. When you pay for an idea, and they do nothing to uphold the idea of a facility with finesse, you realize that perhaps for for a home grown facility is probably better than an american chain that doesn't care. When you equipment is new, but its just to plastic fantastic, its not worth it. Save your money, save the sress and just rgo else where!

If you have a regular membership (not signature) they'd like to charge you an extra fee every time you use this gym, of around $15.

No thanks. I'll stick to my regular LA Fitness, which from the sounds of it is just fine.

I have been a member at this club since it has opened and really like it, I have never had a problem with the staff, they have always be helpful, yes sometimes they run out of towels but part or that is becasue people take them home, I did once by mistake. I use the club now mainly for yoga. I went to the Eglinton club last night to take a class and was advised that I only have a single club membership, they did let me take the class. I went in today to my location and talked with Kathy and she was great, confirmed that it was a single club membership but switched it over to Multiple so I can use both. When reading these comments remember people are more likly to post negative things than postive, read the comments go in and check out the club and make up you own mind.

I joined the Newmarket club from day 1 that it opened, and I loved it. After switching from another gym I wont go back to my previous club or any other for that matter. I moved out of the Newmarket area and now drive out of my way every day to go to the Bathurst/Rutherford location simply because I don't want to go to another chain of gym. La Fitness locations are popping up everywhere.... Hopefully they'll bring one to Woodbridge soon so I can enjoy the amenities closer to home. I am the type of gym goer that keeps to myself. In my opinion the staff is nice and well kept, I never have anyone trying to push products/services on me, The washrooms/change rooms are clean, the machines are always clean, never "out of order" like some places I have been. They keep the gym clean, the equipment well-maintained. I know some people expect the world from their fitness club, and if the extra money to go to a private club. This is a $30/mth club people. And for what youre paying.... you're getting a hell of a fantastic gym.

Just asked for my renewal money back. I initially signed up in Burlington/Mississauga LA Fitness and the Burlington one is even better than this "signature" gym. Initially signed up for $464 and then renewal fee of $305 annually.

I've had access to this gym and all gyms for the last two years, but now Signature and LA fitness in Burlington/Mississauga saying I have to upgrade and pay another $200 a year.

So another $200 for the same service I've had for the last two years? Forget it....theses guys are crooks. I'm making a complaint to BBB. Typical Bait and Switch.

Hi i have to make a point of just telling everyone how it is at LA fitness . .
i have been over weight for sometime and felt it was time for me to hit the gym .
i came across LA fitness from members of my church
they told me it was ok ..
i decided to join and i found out to my amazement how rude these people are ..
However i continued to use the Gym ..
i have a small child that i brought along with me and left the child in the kids club on the premises . ..
only to find out some members don't know nothing about looking after kids ...
Because it seems they are kids themselves .
only one member of the staff had a very good understanding about kids her name is Lee anne .
a very understanding woman and knows her stuff
so much that if she isn't there i will return home .
i can take the rudeness from members of staff
but when it comes to my childs wellfair that i am not going to stand for ....
only one member of staff knowing their job ...the rest are just not fit to look after a pet animal much more a child .

Come on La fitness sort out the kids club care
get more experience staff like how lee anne is ...
is that so hard to ask ...
plus when i picked up my child i noticed how cold it was in there ...
why isn't the heating turned on for the kids area
i am sure i will take myself to a different Gym

And you won't be able to because I have cancelled this membership. Despite speaking to at least 3 people you continue to call me daily and email me repeatedly.

This membership is cancelled for the following reasons:

I had a personal trainer, the Mississauga club decided to fire all part-time trainers, this meant my trainer was fired. I made 3 attempts to get a new trainer (weekdays at lunch anywhere from 12-2pm) but none were available. The final time I was scheduled with someone and went into the club only to find out he had been double booked and was leaving for a couple of months the following week so didn't think it would be a good idea to take on new clients. I was charged for this session. I spoke to head office, the Mississauga club Manager both repeatedly about this issue.

When I bought my personal training sessions I was told they would never expire but apparently they do expire and have expired - which was the sole reason I was maintaining this membership.

My attempts (2) to transfer my membership to Milton were not successful.

There is no convenient way to cancel this membership. I am told to go to my "home" club during normal business hours. Well this is impossible because my home club is in Mississauga and I live in Milton now and work downtown Toronto. I leave my house at 7am and get home at 7pm.

The alternative method is to download a form and mail it in, which I have done. Unfortunately it is to a PO box so I could not send it registered mail. I have resent this cancellation form a couple of days ago.

Also, I was told to go on-line to get this cancellation form. Oops, it is only available if you have a user name and password. Since I had not been going to the gym I lost my key and did not have a membership number. I was able to call and get this. Strangely the form indicates that I will receive an email confirmation of my cancellation - I wonder if you can email me to confirm cancellation, why I can't email the cancellation itself? I mean you've made it difficult enough.

Oh and it is very convenient that when I make arrangements with people on the phone they cannot send me an email confirming our conversations since they apparently don't have email addresses? This is 2015, everyone should have an email address who works for you and I bet they do they are just told not to give it out.

Now I am being phoned and emailed on a daily basis to update my payment information. Well guess what? I won't be doing this. Luckily for me I had a security issue with my credit card and I will not by giving you the number again.

You really should reconsider your ridiculous policies. I can confidently say that I will never sign up for another LA Fitness again. However, had you not made this process so difficult I might have signed up again in the future. Add another lost customer to your ever growing list due to these ridiculous cancellation policies and inability to transfer locations.

PS - It would be great if you could stop calling me EVERY SINGLE DAY.
