The Simpsons Movie

BUZZ: I don't care what anybody says, I'm a Simpsons fan for life. The advance buzz on the movie version of this beloved, unending TV show about the misadventures of a yellow dysfunctional family has been -- with a sigh of relief -- immensely positive.

Much of the plot has been kept so top secret that the script had to be shredded after each voicing session by the actors. But regardless of what's known about the story, most critics have already suggested, we're in for a very, very special episode, ahem, an 87 minute episode of this venerable classic.

Oh, and word has it that Bart shows his wiener. It's a reminder that sometime before the brash of the brash of shows like South Park and Family Guy came into existence, the Simpsons were the edgiest slot on primetime circa early '90s.

I was shocked when I saw that it was sitting at like 87% on RT.

I'm not a Simpsons Hater by any stretch, but I'll be honest and say I'm probably going to watch No Reservations before I watch The Simpsons Movie.  Both Zeta-Jones and Eckhart have proven to be quite good at the acting craft, so I am intrigued as to what kind of chemistry can exist between them on stage.

Hey Andrew,

Read the last two paragraphs of Roger Ebert's review. It's curious that it's sitting so high in the ratings.

I kinda stopped watching the show after Season 10, so this movie is probably not made for me.

The real question is: Does it rip off The Family Guy as much as the TV show has in the past four years?

The movie's good. Not a grand slam, maybe, but pretty freakin' sweet. And just so EERIE after all this time to be seeing the Simpsons up there on the big screen. And occasionally with their man-parts hanging out. Awesome!
