Free Film Screening: Opal Dream

Sprockets and OzFlix are presenting the Aussie family drama Opal Dream directed by Peter Cattaneo (The Full Monty) at the Isabel Bader theatre on Saturday, February 10th at 12:30 PM.

Opal Dream is about Kellyanne, a young girl who lives in the small working-class mining town of Australia. She has two best friends, Pobby and Dingan... who are both — how shall we say — imaginary. Her brother, Ashmol, thinks she's crazy, and is rather aloof towards her active "childish" imagination. One day, Kellyanne's father, an opal miner, is accused of betrayal and deemed a disgrace by some of the locals. Sadly, on the same day, Pobby and Dingan also go missing. So it's now up to Ashmol to help his distraught sister, by convincing the skeptical community in assisting him with the search for two invisible people. Through it all, Ashmol learns to accept and value the dreamer within himself.

Sounds like it might be good for grown-ups too.
