Friday Night Flick in the Park

madagascar.jpgIf you're staying in the city this weekend and looking for something different and low key to do Madagascar will be playing as part of Movie Night in High Park Friday night at 8. Showing near the Black Oak Cafe by Bloor, the animated flick which features voices by Ben Stiller and Sasha Baron Cohen - Booyakasha! - is about a group of animals who escape Central Park Zoo in New York City. Wanna know more about the film? Check out the trailer.

I haven't been to movie night yet myself but it's gotta be a nice way to spend the evening, curled up with loved ones all toasty under a blanket. Though it's unclear on the website it appears the event is by donation. High Park Initiatives, the charity running the show, aims to make High Park a classroom for kids in the city, if only for a day at a time.

Great idea, but sadly I'm not the biggest fan of Madagascar as a film. I'll probably stop by anyways, maybe I'll see you there?
