It's too bad none of the directors - Barbara Kopple, Marijana Wotton and Bob Eisenhardt - showed up for the international premiere of Bearing Witness. Must have been in Tribeca.

This is an expertly crafted film that documents the lives of five female journalists during and before the war in Iraq. As each of the correpondents continues to put themselves in harm's way, you can't help to think of the sixth brave woman (Wotton) who was following their every move. What was going through her mind? Would have been great to know.

Despite the lack of closure, the film was a hit. It was nice to get to know some foreign correspondents other than CNN's excellent Christiane Amanpour.

Bearing Witness screens once more this week - on Friday at 1:30pm. If you can get tickets, it's definitely worth the price of admission.
