Makeup chain Inglot coming to Yonge and Dundas

Posted by Natalia Manzocco / August 27, 2014

inglot torontoMakeup junkies, heads up: International cosmetics chain Inglot is coming to Toronto. The Polish company, which has stores across Europe and the U.S., will be taking over a retail space in the under-utilized strip at the southern edge of Dundas Square, just a few doors down from the Hard Rock Cafe. (The Toronto opening, strangely, comes on the heels of the company shutting down its existing stores in Montreal.)

The mid-range cosmetics chain (price-wise, think a notch below MAC) offers a range of skin, eye, lip and nail products in hues ranging from the perfectly practical to the outlandish (check their holographic lip glosses). Interestingly, the company made headlines a year ago when their line of "breathable" O2M nail polishes became a surprise hit among Muslim women. The formula allows water to permeate the varnish and touch the nail, which means women can wear the polish and still wash their hands thoroughly before prayer. (Not only that - it comes in about 70 colours.)

I think the real mystery was why did they choose Montreal to open in the first place? That's eight years wasted.

They were in Ontario and closed down. Got to Montreal last week only to find out they had closed down there too. Hopefully, they will be more successful this time around with more brand exposure. Can't wait to check them out - great products!

They were in the Rideau Centre in Ottawa for a bit, but really psyched to see they'll be opening here!

They were in Toronto a few years back, their store was located in First Canadian Place at King/Bay, so this is not their first opening in Toronto.

Hopefully this time they will have better luck.

I wish them good luck! It is an awkward sounding name when spoken in English or French. That makes for a bit of an uphill battle.

WOW we all thought that Rob Ford was hurting Toronto and possibly Canada's reputation and business development, BUT with all the recent announcements over the past weeks about companies interest in the Toronto area and growth to all of Canada , I'd say he hasn't hurt it at all, and if anything, maybe with ehe recent boom we're starting to see the hard work of Mayor Ford pay off. Plant the seeds early on, and now we're starting to bare food/fruit.

Yes. Rob Ford is responsible for a Polish make-up company coming to Toronto. Give your deluded head a shake. If you'd actually graduated from high school you'd not be blindly following an idiot, and you'd know the difference between "bare" and "bear".

INGLOT is amazing, I literally only buy my makeup in Poland because of how cheap it is. Probably will be bumped up here. I usually pay around 10$ a product (nail polish, pressed powder, bronzer etc) eye liners usually go for less. Their brushes are top notch, and the freedom system is great for consumers and professionals to build an entire set for yourself with all the products keeping in one place (magnetically!!). No more one million compacts and tubes scattered everywhere...
Welcome to Toronto INGLOT!!
