Finally a car wash worth the bang for your buck

Posted by Staff / July 18, 2011

Nude Car washFor a hot Sunday afternoon in Toronto, there's nothing like getting a little wet. Such was the gameplan yesterday for Steamworks' charity fundraiser dubbed the Tighty Whitey Carwash. Living up to the event's name, Steamworks' members donned their skivvies, some soap and water to add some shine to all comers. All was for a good cause (the Toronto People with Aids Foundation) and was set to the beats of DJ Dwayne Minard. Keep scrolling for more photos, although for some these may be NSF.

Wow, yesterday was very hot. It's good to see folks finding creative ways to, er, cool down. I wish I'd been in town yesterday. My car is kinda dirty.........

Hey Equity,
Tell your friends of colour to come out of the closet. Then they can be represented here.

Hmmm, perhaps this tells you more about the 'people of color' wanting to give back to the community, rather than some oblique implication that somehow (once again) it's a Great White Conspiracy to control the world...
(Isn't it amazing how a simple car wash, for charity yet, can raise the usual suspects from their medically induced coma?)

I dunno... the guy in the blue cap and the in the glasses looking at the camera in front of the SteamWorks sign both looking kinda, well, doable.

There are plenty of "people of colour" who work at and go to steamworks so I wouldn't worry too much dude.

Double Standard!!

I would love to see a car wash where women wear see through white clothes.

That would be shut down in a second.

If they did that in the village, probably wouldn't be an issue.

Am I the only one who sees the irony that an establishment that contributes to the spread of AIDS is doing a fundraiser for an AIDS charity? Everyone knows what goes on in gay bathhouses. I have several friends who frequent the place and tell me that there is lots of unprotected sex going on in there. I'm not saying that AIDS is only a gay thing, but its well established that unprotected sex, straight or gay, is a major risk factor.

took a while but the trolls have show up, but I knew they would.
Learn a bit about the PWA before you slag them. They do not promote unsafe sex, actually no one does. Get some facts you sound like a fool.
I do not see anyone there wearing see through clothing, they are all dressed. If you have not found scantly clad women doing a car wash time you crawled out of your mommies basement.
This is not the Santa Claus parade why would there be pictures from it here?
damn trolls do you think anyone cares about you and your opinions.

I never said PWA promotes unsafe sex. Read before you flame. What I said was that Steamworks is a place where a lot of unsafe sex goes on. If you deny that, then either you haven't been in there, or you are in denial.

Well, with a name like 'Cheryl,' clearly you have never been there, so then what exactly are you denying?
People like you have been spewing ignorance and venom about the bath houses for 40 years. AIDS just gives you an excuse.
Newsflash: unsafe sex occurs everywhere. SteamWorks, along with other bath houses host reps from PWA and other organizations to spread INFORMED news, there are free condoms everywhere and some pretty heavy posters to remind patrons that unsafe sex can be dangerous.
I'd suggest you crawl back under your rock, Cheryl. You are only embarrassing yourself and a very few who are just as ignorant as you.

Cheryl, I was going to take you to task for your uptight ignorance (Everyone knows what goes on in gay bathhouses!!) but I think Gadfly covered it. Steamworks doesn't promote unsafe sex. The people who have unsafe sex promote unsafe sex.

Cheryl baby, I am totally shocked woith your comment. Steamworks definitely does not promote unsafe sex as a matter of fact Steamworks provides free condoms to everyone entering the club and hosts several outreach groups a week to come in and educate our customers on safe sex practices. Perhaps you should do your homewrok before you flame.

Cheryl baby, I am totally shocked by your comments. Steamworks does not promote unsafe sex as a matter of fact we encourage everyone who uses our club to practice safe sex. Not only do we provide free condoms to all of our customers, we host several outreach groups a month to help us eductae our customers on safe sex practices. "Everyone knows what goes on in gay bathhouses."

Everyone knows what goes on in hot tubs, motels, and behind closed bedroom doors. Let's condemn the whole lot, and petition the government to monitor all sexual intercourse.

Idiot.

once again, I never said that Steamworks "PROMOTES" unsafe sex. What I said was that unsafe sex goes on there.
