anyway here you go http://thesartorialist.blogspot.com/ enjoy :D
anywho.. natalie feel free to google the Sartorialist to see what I think is stylish. I just posted the link but BlogTo felt it was necessary to remove my post.
(its like China up in here)
BlogTO: Why do you always feature poor, tree-hugging, 20- to 30-somethings?! Right off the bat, I noticed that The Sartorialist has a great diversity of ages and socio-economic groups.
Or even post something from flickr, of friends. Go nuts.
If you're gunna chirp.. you should be able to show the better version non?
And if youve been to Paris or Milan, THAT IS honest-to-goodness street style. People DO dress like that on a regular basis. They're fashion capitals after all so Im not sure what makes this more "honest" or "good". Its all about the context. I still dont like these trashy outfits. lol. peace
The Sartorialist IS the better version, he essentially invented documenting street style. Im not sure why you're getting so worked up and defending vagina-bearing camo mini skirts and matching shoe/bra-strap ensembles.. Really?! haha
Massiel, Style: "Try to be unique and different. To stand out without showing too much.", Favorite Item: "My shirt from forever21." ohhhhh how unique! Seriously how do you even find these people on the streets? I've seen so many potential yet blogto does not have the eye for fashion...
I live near the Drake, work downtown, shop in Kensington, drink in Parkdale, and bomb around the city on a bike and TTC and have no problem running into men and women on an hourly basis whom I sartorially admire.
How do these chums keep getting on Street Style?
Believe me, I am so SO entirely over shapeless shirts, high waisted skirts and moppet hair - often culminating in the least flattering outfits I have ever seen. Ever.
HOWEVER - if people are going to bitch and get salty about how unstylish someone is, or how blogto doesn't "know for style" then we should all be able to put up or shut up.
Sartorialist IS the go to, as he (though not starting it) nailed it the best. But you have to admit, some of the stuff he picks sometimes is blech. It really is. And while we over on this side of the pond think the world of European style, it's not always great. http://www.flickr.com/photos/fjacinto/3726594512/ or http://www.flickr.com/photos/karl_hab/2619425986/
In a nutshell I'm saying...
If you're gunna knock it (as we all do)
then we should be able to show something that is better...
That is all ;)
And the old lady you posted on flickr rules. You've reduced yourself to ridiculing the elderly. tsk
I'm willing to bet 95%.

I bet all of you Daniel-lovers would not want to touch his "military shaft" after seeing his balding head.
And yes, your links were good.
We CAN all knock and bitch as much as we want. It's that everyone does it so much here without backing it up with any content.
For the record - I think the ones posted here all all typical Toronto summer style. Pretty safe, some self expression, but surprisingly this time.. not all ill fitting.
@dejana - me likey! Though I could never wear that much floral without having traumatic throw backs to my Grade 8 prom. Pink & green floral with a french braid. Booya.
Next time I will prepare a draft for your review with Chicago citations and page numbers.
Oh, and also... G20 OMG!!!
Joe :D
The only outfit worth commenting is the woman in the pink shorts behind Erlenys.
I will agree with some of you, thugh, the red hair girl's name is Jaquelin, she is gorgeous and looks great as always. However, calling everyone else disgusting and coments of the nature is just not acceptable. Why all the hate people.
For what is worth, Melanie, I think you look beautiful.
- A forum for BlogTo readers to submit pic and info on themselves since some clearly just want attention. It could be an interesting meta topic.
- Turn street style into just a showcase of normal Torontonians. Style is so subjective there will always be so much unwarranted and misguided hostility in the comments.
Yo-YO, homies!
Toronto is NOT NYC or LA or a European city; we tend to have a more relaxed style. I think these pictures represent Toronto street style accurately... and they are real people having fun on St. Clair! (My respect to any woman who wore heels to the festival!)
I do happen to follow many European and American fashion blogs, including the Sartorialist. BUT, let's be honest it costs a pretty penny to be caught in Chanel, YSL, etc. - most of us who are fortunate to own a couple luxury and designer items don't wear them to buy groceries or run errands!
Plus, Toronto just got a Topshop, like two months ago, so we're not that fashion forward here.
Get real. These folks look great.
I especially love Melanie in the red lipstick!
@annakarenina: You shouldn't throw yourself under the train there, sweetheart.
