TFBB goes HiTech
The 4th Toronto Fashion Bloggers Brunch has come and gone. We gathered at the home of TFBB, the Drake Hotel that we love because they treat us very well. Many of the regular crew attended: Danielle from finalfashion.ca, Adrian from Fashion Verbatim, Sonja from TSF, Carolyn from TFI Diaries, Tiff from TSF, Rachel from TSF and Eden from Bargainista. She managed to run across the city from PodCamp to meet up with us.
First order of business for us was the recent fashion shows in New York, London and Milan. The recent Prada show was a hot topic. Its ugliness resonated with Adrian and I, others felt it was just plain ugly. Marc Jacobs Fall 2007 collection received rave reviews with the TFBB crowd. It's the best Marc Jacobs collection I've seen in a while. No volume, pleats or frills just straight lines and great tailoring. Other topics included Fashion vs. Style, the too thin model debate and Toronto Fashion Week. The discussion turned to the Canadian fashion industry and the impact it has on the world. Danielle had many great points on what she feels is Canadian fashion and that resulted in a lively debate.
We were lucky enough to have non-bloggers come down. A faithful reader named Miki joined us. Marlene Shiff stopped in to dish about working the industry. Marlene is the owner of Boutique Le Trou that got a mention in US Vogue this month.

The brunch went high tech this meeting. We now have a reservation system and forum page. I spearheaded this because I wanted to play with new technology. I setup a reservation system using Eventbrite.com, which is great because you can use the premium versions at no cost provided your event is free. I also set up a TFBB forum on my host geekigirl.com. I really wanted to install and play around with phpBB.
Please visit the new home of the Toronto Fashion Bloggers Brunch at tfbb.geekigirl.com. RSVP for the 5th TFBB on March 25, 2007.
