Because it's not too much to want jeans that fit

Is anyone else totally annoyed at the hype that has been created over the skinny jean craze? If you aren't 6 feet tall and have ultra thin legs, this look just isn't going to work for you. Fashion icons like Audrey Hepburn always looked great because they stuck with styles that worked for them. Avoid chasing the trends and purchase a pair of pants that flatter your figure.
I love supporting products that are Canadian designed and manufactured. I discovered DISH jeans awhile back and immediately fell in love with them. Not only are they designed and produced in Canada, but they also have a great fit, variety of styles, contemporary look and relatively decent price tag compared to other premium denim brands. DISH jeans are located at City of Angels on Queen, Lileo in the Distillery District, and Trixie Inc. on Bloor (for more retailers check out Dish's website).
If you are getting frustrated trying to find a pair of jeans that fit, don't get too set on a specific brand. I always get annoyed when I can't find the perfect pair of jeans so I've included a few helpful hints to get you on your way to finding a pair of jeans that fit your body type.
Larger Legs
If you are a little larger in the thigh area, wear darker washes of denim that have a slight flare to balance out the leg.
Tummy Tuck
Don't go low or high rise on the waistline. Try to find a pant that comes just at or slightly below the belly button.
Smaller Figure
No problem! Find a straight leg pant and avoid large hems at the bottom of the pant or cuffs. They will shorten your leg.
If you are Super Tall
Make sure your pants are long enough. A lot of the premium denim jeans are very long.
Big Butts
The first thing we do when we try on a pair of jeans is check out our derriere. Avoid extra pockets or embellishments in the rear.
No Butt
Find pants with (higher) pockets, embellishments, or embroidery on the back of the pant.
Wide Hips
Find a mid-rise pant that has a straight leg.
To be Super Tall
Put on a pair of heels. It has been proven that women stand straighter in heels, and the extra height will help elongate the leg.

Thanks for the tips otherwise though, they are great to consider! I always thought flares were for EVERYBODY, because everyone needs their hips balanced out. Guess I was wrong...
Dish is still a relatively new company. They don't currently have a men's denim line but the good news is that they are in the process of creating one to be called Dirt.
Buying the right pair of jeans for men, is certainly easier than finding a pair for women, but can still be a daunting task. There are a lot of options and the absolute best thing you can do is ask the sales people what the best options are for your body. If your guy is too shy to ask, here are some ideas:
Larger in the leg - smaller below the knees
Go for a regular fit jean with a boot-cut opening.
Bigger upper leg area
Go for a looser fit jean. They are usually fuller in the behind, thigh and knees.
Bigger thigh and bum
You will want to choose a relaxed fit if you need a bit more room in the butt and thigh.
String bean
Those with no butt and thin legs will want to choose a low-rise or boot-cut jean.
Things to avoid:
- ultra thin jeans
- ultra baggy jeans
- jeans that come up too high (your belly button is the highest they should ever go)
- tightness at the ankles
Men's jeans tend to change styles less frequently than women's. Once your guy has found a brand and fit that works encourage him to buy a variety of washes and fashion details in the same jean. Distressed denim or a different wash can make you feel very different in one pant that you know will always look great.
Hope that helps :)
