- hot but not unbearable
- for the people watchers - pick any street patio on Queen West or the Beach. They offer cold beverages and wonderful people watching opportunities
- for the privacy seekers - head over to one of the cities parks - High Park, Allen Gardens, etc.
- hot and unbearable - requires a range of option
- if you want to get wet and don't mind the crowds try one of Toronto's public pools
- for quiet indoor lounging grab a good book and sit in one of the lounges at the Metro Reference Library basking in the air conditioning.
- head down to Queen's Quay for drinks on a patio - it's always cooler by the water
- Or hit the rainbow for a matinee and lounge in the dark, cool air.
- summer storm lounging - a covered patio, or under a sky light so you can hear the rhythm of the rain as it pulls the humidity out of the air.
down on the beach at Ashbridges Bay (upwind of the water treatment plant)
or
downstairs in Union Station, and watch all the women walk by, dressed for summer.
Definitely in my AC'd apartment, slumped in my faux snow leopard covered Poang chair with a Star Wars book in one hand and a mug of apple cidar in the other.
Sound: Anything going on downtown is coming in through my window.
Scent: My jasmine bush in bloom.
Perhaps I need to get out more?
It's a huge open park situated on a hill. Chinatown East is close by, but more importantly you have a spectacular view. You can watch people play tennis, walk their dogs, read a book, have a picnic, jog on the track, play baseball or anything else people like to do.
My favourite part is the breathtaking panoramic view of downtown and our city as a whole. You can see all the highrise buildings, the CN Tower, the Bloor-Danforth viaduct and the DVP all at the same time. It's simply the best place to lounge because of the view and open environment.
thanks to everyone for their entries. there were lots of great tips and we actually pulled out quite a few hairs trying to figure out who should win.
