A few of my friends see other stylists there, like Anna, and have only had positive feedback. Highly, highly recommend.
Highly HIGHLY recommend.
Having said that, this is the only salon that I have found in Toronto that has actually managed to do my blonde right - it's not brassy, too dark etc. So thank god for that!!
I've been going here for over three years, and have always been satisfied with my hair. Paul always gets it right!
1. 20 MIN including wash
2. No conversation
3. $50 Plus tip
4. TERRIBLE CUT (going elsewhere to fix it)
Im sure it depends on your stylist but I left feeling really ripped off and will never return.
After I explained what I wanted done with my hair, he chose the hair color, and proceeded to put the dye on my hair without showing me any swatches to make sure the shade was right. In the end, I am not unhappy with the color overall, but I would have definitely prefered a warmer shade, and considering I paid to have my hair dyed, I don't think that's unreasonable to expect.
He was so rough on my hair, combing my hair while the dye was on my head, practically ripping my hair in the process. When he washed my hair, he scrubbed my head so vigorously with cool water, not making it pleasurable whatsoever. The wash is my favorite part of getting my hair done, and it was such a let down. He just seemed like he was in such a rush to get it done.
I told him I was eagerly growing out my hair, and that I wanted to keep my layers, and while he did keep the end length, he thinned out my hair so much that I feel like I lost a lot of my hair. And he thinned out my bangs when I told him I keep them straight across, and he didn't even blend it into the rest of my hair, so it looks pretty butchered. And my hair is dryer and more damaged than when I walked in (even though it had been 5 months since I had my hair done, with split ends), whereas with my previous stylist, I would always walk out with amazing, shiny, healthy hair. (I lived overseas, and am now back in Toronto, which is why I have to find a new hairstylist).
The major thing is that he didn't ask me any questions to make sure of what I wanted. He was grumpy off the get go (even admitted to me he woke up on the wrong side of the bed)And for the price I paid... $150... I didn't feel like it was money well spent.
The bummer is that while a friend of mine recommended me to him, another friend recommended another girl who works at Shampoo, but I surely can't switch hairstylists at the same salon! I'll just have to try another salon.
Renee is really good in consulting me concerning the cut, and pretty much gives me what I want to achieve.
