Optic Zone
Optic Zone is Joe Singh's dizzying jumble of a shop near the foot of Jarvis. It can be a bit overwhelming. "We carry everything," he insists, and he might be right, with an inventory featuring labels like J.F. Rey, Tom Ford and Funk Royal, and prices from $150 to $1600.

Yes its a little messy and yes they are often busy, but if you are patient Joe WILL find you the best frames to suit you.
Every time I've gone he's running around, he'll greet me with a couple questions and hand me a frame and then back to other customers before me. Once my turn comes up he'll offer a ton of great frames, and usually the very newest styles and all looking great. And it just happens that EVERY TIME I've gone, the FIRST pair he hands me is the one I walk out with!!!
He will find the BEST looking frames for you. I'm very confident in his services.

PROs
- Uneatable prices (I ordered a pair of Chanel frames once that would have set me back $750 at three other optical stores where I got quotes. My price at Optic Zone? $350). Joe has also always given me a great deal when I've bought more than one pair at a time, always fitting them into what I have available from insurance
- Unparalleled understanding of face shape and bone structure; Joe and his team will have you trying on glasses you never would have picked for yourself. Trust them
- Laid-back attitude. Want to be there for 10 mins? Fine. Two hours? Fine. I once spent two hours there when I was shopping for new eyeglasses and sunglasses. The staff weren't impatient or annoyed with me, and continued bringing me choice after choice until I was happy. Just yesterday, I needed new eyeglasses again and I wasn't there 10 minutes before one of Joe's employees picked out a pair of glasses that were so amazing I decided to stop looking
- Quick turnaround: You'll have your new glasses inside of a week, maybe within days depending on how busy they are
CONs:
- Parking is a bloody nightmare around the store; take transit if you can
- Hours can be wonky; sometimes they just shut down for a week and sometimes are closed certain weekends. It seems unpredictable at best
- The store is a bit of a disaster. Aside from the high-end frames that grace the well-lit and nicely displayed walls, how any order is processed in this place on time and correctly is beyond me because there are papers EVERYWHERE and orders are basically bound with elastic bands to glasses cases; it's obviously not impacting their ability to do good work but it would go a long way for customers on the fence about this place to clean it up. Optics for the Optic Zone!
If you're looking for a place where you'll be served champagne and crumpets while being waited on - this ain't it. But if you want fashion-forward frames at the best prices in the city, go to Optic Zone.
