Moms To Be and More
Moms to Be and More is one of the largest baby stores in Toronto, with a vast array of baby-related items filling two large floors. The selection of furniture and bedding is particularly impressive, with cheerful modern prints and beautiful cribs from DwellStudio and organic sheets from Giggle to complete a stylish and modern nursery.

Do not shop there!
The store is a good place to get everything at one spot but you can also get most products elsewhere. I started to shop at other places for my daughter now because of the bad services and attitude I experienced a few too many times.
When you're about to spend at least 800.00 on a stroller I think that some kind of customer service would be nice. When I finally asked if there was a certain colour in stock all the person behind the counter did was tell me that it wasn't available- no offer of information about when it would be available, what other colours were available etc. unless I asked. On the way home I called another store where I have received good service (an actual demonstration of how another stroller that we bought works) to find out if the same stroller was available- it is on back order at this store but I'm thinking that I would rather wait and purchase from a store that actually understands how to give good customer service.
Mom's to Be and More has received some good reviews and I don't doubt that some people go there and receive good service but consistency is important because they never know who is going to walk in and what kind of business they could be losing as a result of not being consistent and pissing someone off.
Anyway, this store has seen the last of my business. Like above posts, there are plenty of other stores with exactly the same stuff and with a more knowledgeable friendly staff. Not a bunch of 20 somethings who just spew the same jargon over and over again. Oh, and the OPP will be installing any of my future car seats - call them up as they provide free clinics.
We went to MTB and we told to one of the sellers that we are looking for a 3 wheels stroller with a strong rain cover. The seller person told us that the best that they have is the “BOB Expedition”. Then we checked it and it looks fine. We asked her to install the rain cover for us in the sample model, so we can see how it works. She told us that there is not any packaging open, so she can not demonstrate us, but she told us that all the covers works in the same way.
Following the seller advice (that we has told that the employees there are knowledgeable), we bought the “BOB Expedition” and a “BOB rain cover”.
Two day after I assembled the stroller and then I tried to install the rain cover. I spent 2 hours trying to install the rain cover, but it didn’t work. The pictures of the instruction show a different stroller or perhaps an older model. So, thought that perhaps I got the wrong cover or I don’t understand the instructions.
Then, next day, 3 days after we purchased the stroller, we went to MTB with the stroller and the rain cover. We went to customer service. We explained to the customer service person our problem and call the supervisor. The supervisor arrived and confirmed that it is the right rain cover. Then she tried to install it and she failed. However, she said that she has never installed one before, so she called another employee. 3 different employees try to installed, but no one of them could install the rain cover. Finally a last employee using all his body and with the help of the others ones installed it in a way that it was clear no correct way at all. The cover didn’t close well and it was ridicules tight everywhere. It was clear that the cover doesn’t work properly.
Then, we explained that we are paying a high price for a quality stroller and we can’t accept this. Buying a stroller is a big effort for us and the cover doesn’t work as should be. So, we asked to change the stroller for another one stroller which rain cover works well.
The supervisor told us the cover works well. Also, she said that they (the 2 employees and the supervisor) couldn’t install right away because it was the first time that they installed the cover in one of the stroller. Finally, she told us that we can’t return the stroller because we put it together and the wheels touch the floor.
We told her that it is against the law to sell something that doesn’t work. We want a stroller with a rain cover that works and it is clear that the BOB Exploration doesn’t work.
In short after 20 minutes discussion, the supervisor accepted the stroller back charging us 10% for restocking, but giving us for free the rain cover of the new stroller that we pick. I was against to pay restocking fee for a mistake, but in order to leave the place I accepted.
Of course that, we never received any apologize.
My wife told the supervisor that she believes that the “Phil and Teds” stroller has a zipper to attach the rain cover. The supervisor said that no one of the stroller has a zipper. Interestingly, the “Phil and Teds” has a zipper. We finally got the Phil and Ted with the rain cover.
I don’t know if the persons who work at MTB don’t know anything about what they are selling or they try to scam the customers. If we didn’t battle for what we believe was fair, we probably had to go back home with an expensive stroller that has not rain cover.
I believe that MTB probably have a better agreement with the brand “BOB”, so they recommend it and they know that the rain cover doesn’t work properly.
Please do not buy any product in this store.
I had pleasant interactions with their staff and found what I needed (and more). But from the sounds of it it's probably best that lightweight interactions are ideal and that you should do all your own research on some of the bigger ticket items.
Make yourself a favour and shop at other store. They just want your money and then, they don't want complaints of any kind.
Rude, rude people.
Don't shop there.
They really will treat you without respect.
Now on with the complaining... Next !
They do not respect you or appreciate your business nor your hard earned money that you're spending in their stores.
I bought 2 car seats from these jerks (Car Install Centre) spent a small fortune for our kids and my sister in-law's twins and when I went in to the installation centre to look at an upgraded car seat for my youngest- I was spoken to and treated like a vagrant..
I gave Karen the owner of MTB a heads up of the experience as most SMBs don't know when they lose customers..She now knows and the sad thing is..THEY DON'T REALLY CARE.
Any experience involving purchases for your child/children should be a pleasurable one, these guys take their customers for granted..SHOP SOMEWHERE ELSE that will respect you, your hard earned money and appreciates your business..
"None of the staff wanted to help me!"
You were probably approached and denied their assistance. When you needed help you expected them to read your mind. Get over yourself.
These walls of texts are unfounded loads of crap.
It's beyond me why people complain about their 'tragic" experiences at Moms to Be. Why do you people continue to visit a place if it "stresses" you out so much?
Get a hobby.
I will continue to shop here and value the knowledge and service they give me each and every time.
And the guy who thinks spending 12k and getting good service cancels out the bad service someone else got on a $50 purchase, well sir, you are a douche.
