Coupe Bizzarre
Montreal/Toronto studio Coupe Bizzarre sits on Queen St W split between #704 and #710. Which might mean a quick game of "where's my hair stylist today", but they're a talented team and worth finding.

do we have to mention that you obsessively called the salon, called a few members of the staff by insulting names, and you tried to get an adjustment for your cut a month after you had it done???? not to forget you were 30 minutes late for it and we took you anyways... (we usually dont accept people if they re 20 minutes late) and you asked if someone could call your lunch appointment? and said the haircut took 2h30 when it took an hour to the most..
i wonder who is not to be recommended...!
we are hairstylist, talented and human.
thank you!
Does anyone know if she's still cutting? I've had other cuts at coupe but she was the best!
Thanks.
And agree, the music is awful.
That's exactly why I like brennen demelo... you don't have to tolerate the nasty vibe —neither attitude nor music. I like a little respect and think I deserve it ;) and... the shops are awesome 2 blocks up on Queen/Spadina... I got the best deals on cute cute stuff cause the shops will lower prices if you ask!!! unbelievable!
Sort of torn between all of your oppinions here.
I've wanted to cut my hair short for ages, and I've gone back to get it fixed a couple of times.
I hope it doesn't get fucked. I don't know who I'm going to, as in which stylist, and I don't want my mother to die of an early heart attack.
-sigh- oh shit.
However, my cut is fantastic and my colour is great. I have to add, I chose Coupe to fix a highlighting slop job I had done at a very well known Yorkville salon (master colour tech too!).
So, to get a great haircut according to what you want, honest consultation and dead on colour, I recommend Coupe.
A few months later I decided to try out highlights again. Someone had mentioned to me that they went to Coupe Bizarre and got great colour. Her hair looked subtle so I trusted and thought I would give it another chance. Called them to make an appoint, when I called, just to be sure, I said, "Can the stylist do subtle, natural looking highlights?" The person on the phone said yes.
Lo and behold...... SAME thing happens to me AGAIN!! Will never go here again. I guess if you want like blue or red hair, they are the place for you, but if you want elegant, natural looking colour, save your money!!
Ps. They are way expensive, on top of it all!!
do not waste your time and money on Douche Bizarre - too kool for skool
if they understood that clients are precious they might survive, but they don't and they won't
there's no soul in their rock n roll
stay away
Coupe Bizarre - you are meant to be all about image/style but there isn't anything cool about behaving like an idiot in the company of young impressionable teenager! Of course "to each their own" but have the decency to accept that speaking about sex,drugs,rock/roll may not be what young people need encouragement with( here's a tip - why not speak about art, music or fashion in a more positive way).
I plead to the owners (whom may or may not have children) not to tolerant this poor example from their staff as it will eventually give your business trouble !!!
I moved back to TO this year after 7years away and was sad to see that this salon had not altered it's style one bit. The white decor seems "2000 millennium" and so were the cuts! After my recent haircut here for "old times sake" I realize that somethings in TO never change!!! Coupe get some fresh style as the only thing bizarre is the millennium theme!!!
Other than that I had very nice stylists but I don't think this was the salon for me. I felt a little out of place. lol.
I've been to a few hair salons in my lifetime and in my experience I don't think it's standard procedure to straighten before you cut. I also have straight hair to begin with so what they did at coupe was really pointless. I found a good hair salon now (Cooney for Hair) and he would never straighten before he cut. I suppose its just different techniques, but I personally didn't like the techniques used at coupe. it was alright but nothing special enough to make me go back.
The team at Coupe Bizzarre are make up of an eclectic group of people, and like all people everyone is different. If you expect magic with one haircut , you will be disappointed no matter where you go and who does your hair. It sometimes takes ongoing appointments to achieve optimal results, sometimes there is a lot of corrections from previous cuts and building up trust between stylist/client takes time.
Didn't your mother tell you, 'If you have nothing nice to say, don't say it'?
Had my hair cut twice by Jaime. First time I loved it, she gave me a great cut for growing my hair out. Second time......just wanted a trim......cut off all the length I had grown and didn't wash my hair...which is the best part!
BUT what I simply don't understand is when you pay good money to be treated like crap by some condescending prima dona when you ask politely if he could fix it...
THAT HE was ROCKY!
Since coming home I've been trying to find someone in my hometown who could cut my hair as WELL! It was one of the BEST cuts I've ever gotten. It really made my curly hair look fantastic. Not to mention Nicole was an awesome person. Who wouldn't want someone that nice to cut their hair? Yeah, the salon was a bit abrupt but I think most salons are. What I care about is my hair and since that was GREAT I give the salon an B and Nicole an A+!
c'est juste un message d'arthur de paris
je suis à la recherche de nutty french girls !!!
ça fait 6 ans que je suis sans nouvelles ...
merci de m'aider

There's a few things to note about this salon's policies:
1) They don't do refunds;
2) Adjustments are done by the same stylist who cut your hair. If you're unhappy with the cut your original stylist provided and uncomfortable having them near your head again, there is no option to have an adjustment done by someone else;
3) The owners of this salon are anonymous so there is no option to have complaints escalated to someone who can make a policy decision regarding your issue.
Make an appointment at your own risk. I'm extremely disappointed with the cut and customer service from this place.
I resent paying 70+ dollars for a cut done by a moron that I could have done better myself.
the colourist (can't remember her name) did a great job on the colour. i had been rocking a very ashy white blonde for some time, knew what to expect, knew that my hair processed toner well. what was infuriating was that in styling my (already washed, already cut) hair post-colour treatment, the stylist managed to clip/tug an ear piercing with her fingers/comb. i left the salon with a bleeding piercing and an overpriced haircut. haven't returned in years.
He just called to tell me he has moved to Parlour Salon, 6 Ossington (at Queen), 647.345.6663, just in case anybody is looking for him. It's only 3 blocks west so of course I'm headed west.
When I walked in I realized I had been there years earlier with my sister. It still looks exactly the same, even the music seemed the same -hmmm. TIme warp! When I met Amy though she didn't look like she was stuck in 1998 so I breathed a sigh of relief!
I explained what I wanted and what my hair goals were and she completely GOT IT! She shaped my hair but kept length. She explained the process that we should go through to get what I wanted in the long run. Amy showed me different styling options too.
Amy knows what she is doing, says she has been cutting for 20 years but doesn't look older than 30, maybe she started at 10? LOL
Anyway, great cut, great stylist - Amy is great, I will be back!
I'd been seeing Vince at Coupe Bizzarre for several years and was always very happy with my haircuts. Whether I was growing it out or cutting it short, the cuts were always fantastic and super easy for me to maintain.
Just before the holidays I called Coupe & was told he was no longer there & they didn't know where he was. Reluctantly, I went to Jamie at Coupe and told her I was trying to grow it out so just a micro trim and follow the last haircut. Well, WTF, I left with a super short layer in the crown and short wisps where there had been none. I thought I was trying to grow it out!
No way was I going back to back to try to get it fixed. I found Vince, who is now at Parlour Salon (647-345-6663), through a friend and he did whatever he could to fix Coupe's mess. I'll never stray again!!!
So long Coupe, hello Parlour.
Thanks,
Kate

Vince rocks!!
I told my coworkers about my experience & they all said "Eww why did you even go there?? They suck." I guess they've had their own bad experiences. I work in a design firm with savy/fashion forward 20-30 yr olds, all who hate this place too. Now I know why.
Would NEVER recommend going here again.
