Chinatown OpticalChinatown Optical has been on Dundas West for over 20 years. This roomy but well-stocked store features lines like Mikita and Philippe Starck, at prices ranging from $200 to $800. Skiers will be interested in the sports eyewear it carries, including a selection of high-end ski goggles, including the Adidas Sport line.

One of the best features are the staff who will go through hundreds of frames to find the perfect match to fit your face. Tan, the owner, is known for his great service.

I love love love Chinatown optical! I haven't bought glasses from anyone else since I discovered them 10 years ago. The service is impeccable and I carry a supply of their cards to give out to people all the time. In fact, come to think of it...I should get a discount for all the refferals I've given out...but the glasses are so inexpensive (Alain Mikli/Chanel/ Dior - don't get it twisted this is high-end wear!) they'd have to give'em to me free. Not that I'd mind ;-)

The Staff is incredible they do everything they can to help you out, I am leaving abroad now, but when I go back to Toronto I will continue buying my contact lenses with them.

Love this place. Great service cool frames and the prices are awesome. I used to shop at Rapp Optical but I got tired of their condescending attitude and high pricing. I strongly suggest this for anyone who wants quality frames on a budget.

chinatown optical is a scam, they charge the price of good quality lens but gave you the lousy lower quality product instead, cannot trust them again, poor quality workmanship, if you bought it there, examine your frame and lens very very carefully for scratch and damages.....they do a lot of self promotions, make the customer go there twice or more before getting the glasses fixed, very tricky merchant, they are not chinese, they are vietnamese.

Are you sure you are going to the the same place that I have? I have beena patron of Chinatown Optical for nearly 20 years now and my experiences have been the best. Their service level is unsurpassed. If you were not happy about your glasses why did you not just bring them back. I am sure they would have rectified the situation. Are you a competitor trying to smear their good name? And what does their ethnicity have to do with anything? Does it matter if they are Chinese or Vietnamese?

a friend of mine turned me on to Chinatown Optical. What can i say GREAT SELECTION GREAT SERVICE, VERY PERSONAL AND FRIENDLY, GREAT PRICE....... i too will be a loyal customer for life. A rare find in this day age.

We too have been loyal customers of Chinatown Optical for many years. We have referred many friends who all have been quite delighted with the products and service that Tan and his team provide. I am certain your situation is an isolated one and if you had the courage to actually identify yourself, I am also certain that Chinatown Optical would have done whatever is necessary to correct the problem.

A big thanks to Tan and his great team.
My Mother has real difficulty now-a-days with her eyes, as she is now quite mature in age and has several eye related health problems, Tan makes this rather arduous task of finding the right glasses, which have to be the right size to accommodate her prescription needs. He takes a great deal of time and effort to help us make sure she has the right fit & can see properly with her new glasses, He even makes sure if there is an issue she can return the glasses / lenses if we need an adjustment (which we have had to do in the past).
We've recommended lots of friends and colleagues to China Optical over the past probably 10+ years, great place, lots of choice, great service.

If you have an issue with our services or prodcts, please contact us to resolve any issues. I will certainly address any and all concerns you may have. Also, Canada is a multi-cultural country. In our store, we have employees of all different races and backgrounds. I hardly understand why you bring up this ethnic issue.

Chinatown Optical is definitely the best optical house I've ever dealt with in a half century of wearing glasses. The service is second to none, and, judging from the number of customers who seem to be on a first-name basis with the staff, people come back; people don't come back if they're not satisfied. Very highly recommended

My family (including extended) have been loyal customers with both Chinatown Optical and Optic Creations (their uptown location) for over 25 years. I COULD get laser eye surgery and forget about wearing glasses ever again but I'll miss my semi-annual meetings with Tan, Kit, Chris, and the rest of the staff. They provide you with an experience and don't treat you like another transaction!

I'm a loyal customer of Chinatown Optical for about 15 years now. Their team is the definition of unparalled customer service. Everytime my family comes to Chinatown Optical we are greeted by a very friendly staff even their part timers. I frequent the store quite often as I am a huge fan of their selection. I have never seen such a wide selection and variety of glasses for such a great price.

I'd also like to thank Amy as she has been very helpful in all aspects of service which makes my customer experience a wonderful time at Chinatown Optical!


This place is very recommended!
