Allan did a fantastic job highlighting and cutting my hair, so it was very disappointing that following the haircut we disagreed about the total cost of the appointment. Allan was rude and unprofessional - due to his response I will not return. My overall impression of the salon was that it looks a little tired - cracked and missing glass tiles on the floor, dirty hand marks on the end of the front desk, hair trimmings in the seams of the couches. Allan was the only stylist cutting hair, others were walking around, texting, and responding to his barking commands.

I just moved back to Toronto, which meant that I lost my hair stylist who cut my hair for the last 3 years... So I have decided not to skimp and give Allan Parss salon a try, as I wanted some special attention to my hair (travelling did a number of it!). I have noticed this salon pop up in reviews and, as it just happened there was a deal for a cut and style. So I decided to add on the highlights on top of the deal and was looking forward to it! When I got the the salon, the first thing I did was the explain to the two stylists (one for highlights, the other - for the cut) exactly what I wanted - VERY fine highlights that would make me blonde, but rather "lighten" things up and a bit of a trim to get rid of the unhealthy ends. I was very adamant about the specifics.
Unfortunately, neither of the stylists listened to me. The guy who did the highlights proceeded to tell me that my previous stylist did a "crap" job and that he is going to fix it. Sadly, all he did was a very average job on the highlights, which came out uneven and chunky in places. Then, the other guy went ahead and gave me very short layers on my fine hair, which mean a "step ladder" effect when blow-dried straight. He basically gave me the same haircut he had (he had thick curly hair, i.e. the opposite of what I have!). As he was styling my hair in curls, I knew this was a disaster.
Unfortunately, I was running late for a friend's function, so did not have time to argue... I know it is hard to do the cut/highlights/style on a client for the first time, but they DID NOT listen to me at all! I ended up going to a local hair salon in the Junction the next day to fix both cut and colour. I would never go back to Allan Parss, and not because of the prices, but rather because it will take me another 3 months to grow out the hair I had to cut off to fix what they have done! Very disappointing...
