Join author and labour historian Bryan D. Palmer on Tuesday, March 31st as he celebrates the launch of his new book Canadas 1960s: The Ironies of Identity in a Rebellious Era (UTPress).
In conversation with novelist, critic and playwright Rick Salutin, Bryan will seek to untangle the legacy of 60s rebellion and political change. Using archival images and scenes from the NFB documentary The Battle in Toronto, Salutin and Palmer will explore the significance of that tumultuous era, and its concomitant challenges to sex and gender and ethnicity, showing us sides of a decade rarely explored.
