Clement Virgo Productions and CFC present "Celebrating Bold, Black, Risk Takers: An Evening with John Singleton"
Join us as we look at Singleton’s influential body of work (BOYZ N THE HOOD, POETIC JUSTICE, SHAFT, BABY BOY) and talk with the iconic filmmaker about his inspirations, his filmmaking process, and reflecting the black experience in film. The audience will have a chance to engage with Singleton in a Q&A following the conversation.
Singleton's 1991 film debut Boyz N the Hood received Academy Award® nominations for Best Director and Best Screenplay. At 24, he became the youngest person ever nominated for the Best Director Oscar®, as well as the first African-American to be nominated.
