► Against A Trans Narrative: A resonating film for anyone who has ever struggled to reconcile their identity with the communities they belong to. Gender-bending and genre-blending the film uses diary footage, stylized dramatic scenes, spoken word, faux audition tapes, and roundtables to initiate a dialogue between feminists, queers, transfolk and friends about the way we construct personal and historical narratives. What does it mean to be trans? Is there an idealized perception of trans-masculine identity? What is the diversity of the trans-masculine experience? Is there an "idealized" community narrative? Complicating the connections around identity formation and representation - the film is one entry point into a larger conversation.
