Salinas at the Drake

Referencing the romanticism of John Steinbeck's most powerful novels, Salinas is a group of prairie boys who care deeply about the messages in their songs. An indie rock outfit, the band explores themes such as desperation and identity, and the politics of social struggle. Their debut self-titled record showcases the bands soul-searching and dynamic song-writing. Produced by Matt Peters (Royal Canoe, The Waking Eyes) and John Paul Peters (Comeback Kid, Matt Epp), the album topped college radio charts in Winnipeg, Edmonton, and St. Catharines, and received high-praise from a variety of music critics around the country.
Despite setbacks since its release, the band is working harder than ever. They are releasing their new EP, 'All These Chocies', on January 24, 2011. Produced by Mike Petkau-Falk (Les Jupes, Head in the Sand), the album is more open and atmospheric than their last record, and demonstrates their ever evolving sound. With an engaging live show and growing repertoire, the band will be
hitting the road extensively in 2012, with the goal of sharing their music and messages with as
many people as possible.
