Adventures in Slumberland

Frolick Theatre presents Adventures in Slumberland at the Lagoon Theatre on Toronto Island. Adapted from Winsor McCay’s turn-of-the-century comic strip “Little Nemo in Slumberland”, these four ½ hour performances feature original circus-inspired puppetry, masks, and music, and will be presented at the secret theatre on Toronto Island, the Lagoon Theatre.

Adventures in Slumberland will be on stage in Toronto July 1 – August 26, 2012 at the Lagoon Theatre (Toronto Islands – Centre Island). Tickets are $10 and are available online at www.frolick.ca starting June 1st. Rush seating PWYC. Four shows daily, Wednesday – Sunday at 11:00am, 12:00pm, 1:00pm and 2:00pm. More shows may be added.

Frolick founder Matthew Krist has partnered with Amira Emma Routledge (Circus Alchemy, Amiraworks, Clay & Paper Theatre) to adapt the 1905 – 1914 comic work of Winsor McCay into four short productions for the stage. The comics and the productions follow the trials of the child Nemo as he navigates his way through a fantasy world called Slumberland in adventures reminiscent of Alice In Wonderland.
