HALLOWEEN TO MARK 11 YEARS FOR TORONTO'S RUE MORGUE
Toronto, CANADA – Brace yourself for the return of Toronto’s cornerstone Halloween event as the city celebrates eleven years of RUE MORGUE, Canada’s original horror publication, online radio program, North American genre fan festival, and a feature film production company. On Friday October 31, 2008, Rue Morgue rings in their 11th anniversary with CURSE OF THE PHARAOH, an Egyptian-themed horror happening (Church At Berkeley – 315 Queen St. East, doors at 9 PM). The highly acclaimed costume, music, and multimedia Halloween extravaganza that TorontoAfterDark.com calls “terrifyingly enjoyable. A blast to your nocturnal senses.”
Sponsored exclusively by WARNER HOME VIDEO and with loyal support from Daniloff Productions, Jagermesiter, Amsterdam Brewing, Café Taste, Westbury Show Systems, Toronto After Dark Film Festival, Stonehammer Beer, and a thousand friends, CURSE OF THE PHARAOH will feature a serpentine quanta of ancient Egyptian-themed performances, rituals and curses featuring the Death Dance of the Cobra Queen, the Horror Rites of Horus, the anomaly known as Corpusse, The So Sick Social Club, the ever popular Rue Morgue Go-Go Ghouls, and the sinister sounds of DJ Tomb Dragomir, DJ LaMort, and DJ Manny G! Plus: Magik! Mystery! Mayhem! Mummies! And more…
Attendees can also expect a slew of ghastly giveaways culminating in RUE MORGUE’s legendary Midnite Costume Contest, which produces some of the best and outrageous costumes ever seen, many of which are developed months in advance for this exclusive event. Prizes this year will exceed $4,000 in value courtesy of RUE MORGUE and WARNER HOME VIDEO.
“Hard to believe we’ve already reached eleven years,” remarks RUE MORGUE founder, publisher and president Rodrigo Gudiño. “We plan on ringing in our second decade in style with one of our biggest, most unforgettable extravaganzas yet.”
Tickets for CURSE OF THE PHARAOH are $25 at the door or $20 in advance available directly from: www.rue-morgue.com or in person at The Rue Morgue House of Horror (2926 Dundas Street West, Toronto – weekdays 10-6 PM).
