Make art, not war! - THE ARTILLERIST Exhibition

Exhibition is free to attend after the opening from Sept 6th to Oct 4th.
Guns, art and interactivity form the premise of this show, which uses multiple audience-controlled Interactive brushes -- fake plastic toy guns -- to create original works of art.
Decorated by the artists, the guns are used to 'point, shoot and paint' on canvases throughout the gallery space. Each gun outputs a unique artist-created graphic creating a series of evolving digital images. The entire process is controlled by a series of Wii controllers embedded in the guns.
Visitors to the exhibition can use the original graphics to create their own digital compositions, which can in turn be output as a hi-res 11x17 print. Each piece of re-appropriated art will be added to a Flickr gallery (http://www.flickr.com/photos/everyonetouch/) where the full body of exhibition work will be compiled and documented.
'The Artillerist' is an independent project of the 2008 Scotiabank Nuit Blanche Toronto Festival and part of the programming schedule.
The show runs September 6th to October 4th. The exhibition was curated by David Girolami and Steve Di Lorenzo of Pixel Gallery; sounds, design, programming and technical production by James Eberhardt, Tom Kuo, Pearl Chen and Bram Timmer and Graham Miller.
