Word Play is a unification of words and play where poetry is revered and created in the moment, and the themes and ideas of those poems are explored through a series of interconnecting improvised scenes; the inevitable fusion of slam and improvisation.
This is a show where the ensemble develops a series of single and multi-voice poems and scenes that flow in and out of each other like water ebbing through channels, rivers and glades.
This is a show where "ideas kiss similes so deeply" they make Steve Coleman proud. This is a show where words are spoken and heard for the thousands of eyes and ears of that big black monster we call theatre.
This is a show where stories and ideas come to life and explore themes from different perspectives, through the voices of many characters.
