Playing on the central trope of consumption in Gwendolyn MacEwen’s poetry collection, A Breakfast for Barbarians, the Scream Literary Festival invites you to engage with the book in its entirety over a sumptuous dinner provided by Juniper Catering. Four contemporary poets from different generations and artistic traditions – Barry Callaghan, Stephen Cain, Louise Bak and Lisa Foad – will read the complete text, each bringing their own voices to the work of Toronto’s most beloved poet. Dinner Tickets are available online at our store (http://thescream.ca/?q=festivals/2008/events/booklength_a_breakfast_barbarians); or at Type Books (883 Queen St. West); $10 reading only tickets will be available at the door.
The menu will be posted shortly. Do note that the meal will be vegetarian with a meat option.
