Orpheus Choir of Toronto presents Handel's Joshua

May 11, 2008

Divine, holy and heavenly events from the Old Testament provide the dramatic climaxes in Handel’s work as the walls of Jericho collapse, a great city is ravaged by fire, and the power of Joshua stops the sun and moon in their tracks. Triumphant choruses, exquisite solo arias and lavish orchestral settings make Joshua one of Handel’s most magnificent oratorios.

The Orpheus Choir of Toronto’s Sidgwick Scholars take on the solo roles for this engaging work: Meghan Fleet, soprano, Wallis Giunta, mezzo-soprano, Cian Horrobin, and Michael Ciufo, tenors and Vasil Garvanliev and David Roth, basses, along with The Talisker Players, Edward Moroney, continuo, all conducted by Robert Cooper, Artistic Director.

Tickets: $30 ($25 seniors, $15 students)
