In Photos: High Park Cherry Blossoms 2008
This afternoon, the party-throwing folks at Promise once again lucked out and managed to have a beautiful weekend afternoon for their annual ambient music chill-out-fest with the cherry trees in High Park. Blue sky, warm temperatures, the short-lived bloom of the cherry blossoms, and ambient background music brought a throng of happy folks out to enjoy the fleeting moment together.

I wonder if the blossoms will still be there on Wednesday? Its the only time I have off work..

They're definitely beyond peak bloom, and they tend to fall quicky after. I hope you're lucky and they're still out when you get there :)
Hey Jerrold, it was surreal and serendipitous crossing paths with you without actually meeting. Haha! I was with a whole bunch of photogs that day, I'll send you the links to the pics when those guys start uploading them. It was such a nice day out!
I went all the way down to see this even though I was only able to stay very briefly, and it was worth it, but when I got home I felt sort of stupid when I noticed a cherry tree hanging over the fence from my neighbour's yard with as many blossoms on it as any in the Park.
Great photos Jerrold! I was also there that afternoon (wouldn't have missed it for anything).... I'll be uploading my shots tonight!

Hi Fellow Cherry Blossom Admirers:
By the looks of these comments, the cherry blossoms are not ready until May. At least it was the case in 2008. What about this year? Does anyone have any info about when they suspect the cherry blossoms to be a delight for the eyes to behold.
We rode to the park on Saturday April 25, at 1pm the blossoms were not out. They looked really close but likely the rain and warmth will do it, my guess this week/weekend. Anyone there Sunday??
