Bikes on Wheels / Curbside are really two sides of the same store. Also, the best tech stores were all omitted from the list.

Tim on January 8, 2008 at 3:26 PM

Ben - What tech store do you think should have been added?

Also, Bikes on Wheels in on Augusta and Curbside is on Bloor.

A few other bike shops that should be on the list: Wheels of Bloor, Racer Sportif, D'Ornellas, La Bicicletta.

Do you know where that boxing ring is in the photo above?

Tim on January 8, 2008 at 6:13 PM

Yeah. I took the photo. It's at Bloor Street Boxing and Fitness.

Where's the Apple Store in that list?

Tim on January 8, 2008 at 9:33 PM

Only independent stores and businesses are included.

I don't know if this matters, but Pop Design Hair Studio no longer exists.

Tim on January 9, 2008 at 12:19 AM

Oops. Sorry about that. It was nominated more than once and it used to have a good reputation. Any idea when it went under and why?

Racheal on January 9, 2008 at 9:22 AM

I know it went out of business at the end of October/beginning of November. I don't know exactly why Pop went under, but I know business hadn't been all that good for a while, and the building it was in was sold and is now slated for condo/loft redevelopment. I also know that the owners of Pop have since moved on to other salons, as have the rest of the remaining staff.

Thanks, Tim...been looking for a boxing ring for a photo shoot that wasn't in a dim room. The natural light near the ring is nice.

It's at Bloor Street Boxing and Fitness.
