Mumuso
Mumuso is a Korean-inspired lifestyle store with headquarters in Shanghai. Its first Toronto location is inside Empress Walk Mall, sitting right above North York Centre station.
The international brand, which has already spread to over 500 locations in over 20 countries around the world, focuses on a lot of cute and practical household/lifestyle items, ensuring that countless folks have access to stuff they never knew they needed.
Items here come at affordable price points, with most hovering around the $3.99 mark. The lowest-priced items sold here are the fun multi-coloured pens, which start at $1.49.
On the opposite side of the price spectrum are these cute fabric speakers at $64.99. They have some unboxed and playing in the store, with surprisingly decent sound quality.
Mumuso also carries beauty and cosmetics items including the Bird's Nest facial cleanser ($12.99) "infused with Swiftlet nest extracts."
Moisturizers and body lotions start here at $3.99. You could spend more than an hour browsing through their extensive selection.
A more unusual item might be the Electric Beauty Bar ($16.99) which promises to slim down my overly-tubby face.
The Wireless Charging Stand ($24.99) doubles as a charger and a cellphone stand.
And of course, who can forget the colourful face masks ($3.99), which have evolved into a fashion statement in Asia beyond their original medical and hygienic purpose.
Tote bags featuring a variety of Mumuso's cute mascot characters are available for $9.99.
Storage solutions are all the rage in Asian lifestyle stores, and Mumuso has a collection of stackable boxes and containers (starting at $3.99) for those ready to Marie Kondo their lives.
I was informed the best selling item at the store is the banana plushy. Go figure.
