The newly re-branded FITC is only two months away. While the acronym once stood for Flash in the Can, the series of worldwide conferences and seminars now stands for Future. Innovation. Technology. Creativity and expects to attract more than a thousand attendees from around the world to the three-day festival which begins April 23rd. December is just a day away and with December comes snow - usually lots of it; and it looks like we've gotten a bit of a preview of what's to come today. When the massive snowfalls arrive that means skiing, and when we think of skiing we think of Blue Mountain.

With the recent launch of the blogTO iPad app we're doubly excited about all things tablet these days including David Hockney's Fresh Flowers exhibit currently showing at the ROM. If you haven't seen it, the exhibit features hundreds of the artist's sketches displayed on iPhones and iPads - the same type of mobile and tablet devices he used to create the art in the first place. This December, The Enwave Theatre at Harbourfront Centre will be playing host to Tumbling Into Light, a music-centred, multidisciplinary performance put on by Diasporic Genius Productions. The event breaks new ground in musical theatre by bringing together high-level performance with community-based art. This new hybridity exploits the power of a blended ensemble, as the performers weave together beauty, humour, and extremes of darkness and light.

There is a makeshift garden in the street-level atrium just east of the box office in the Four Seasons Centre. It is not a farmers market, nor a gardening show, nor swanky reception you weren't invited to. Rather, for the next few days, the Four Seasons Centre will be plush with plants in exhibition of the winning community idea for the American Express Room for Thought Contest.
