My Market BakeryMy Market Bakery is a Kensington Market favourite. They sell pretty much everything here except a good selection of spelt and gluten free options (hint hint). For everyone else, there's cakes, pies, buns, bread and a whole lot more.

A great local place for Montreal-styled bagels and yummy crusty rolls...we love the codfish balls but the staff leaves a lot to be desired...they can be rude, lazy and self-absorbed, spending more time on their cell phones than helping customers...a shame really...

On long weekends, for at least one or two of the days, this bakery sells DAY OLDS at REGULAR PRICE?! I know this bakery orders from other bakeries in the city, but if they are closed certain days then tell your customers that you cannot get their bread today, rather than sell them TWO DAY OLD BREAD AT FULL PRICE!!!

Some amazing items (buttertarts, potato rosemary bread, multigrain ciabattas), but I agree with the poster above that the service is pretty bad. One or two of the girls are quite nice, but the others are awful and treat customers like inconveniences.

I've always gone to My Market Bakery! The staff seem to be great and helpful. Their cakes are really good, and not overpriced. Go back and try them again. Maybe you were there on an off-day. It's the only bakery at Kensington that isn't all tarted up and corporate,

"More details coming soon." - June 12, 2007

Where are the details??!! ;)

This place is decent, but not everything in there is really worth writing home about. My favorite is the multigrain loaf - studded with great grain mix on the outside, with a nice earthy whole grain taste. I also recommend the herb&cheese loaf and the egg bread - these are perfect when toasted; crisp on the outside, perfectly soft on the inside.

My boyfriend is a fan of the montreal bagels, the chocolate croissants, and the spinagels. I've sampled those and they are okay, but bagels/pastries are less of my thing.

Service there is acceptable but nothing spectacular. The staff is friendly occasionally, but spend a lot of time chatting behind the counter with each other. Sometimes a bit slow to respond and give off the impression of laziness/boredom. Doesn't really bother me though - I just want good bread.
