I have moved to the High Park area recently and discovered this wonderful bakery. I was attracted by its windnow wich is always decorated beautifully with pastries, cookies and coffee cakes. I specially like those little details that they display around the holiday season. Their Christmas and Halloween window decorations of 2009 were awesome and it was one of the best looking windows in the area. I love talking to the staff. The girls always welcome you and say hi when you get in, offering help and are very pleasant. I love their breads, specially asiago & cracked pepper and potatoe & onion bread. The butter, custard and pecan tarts are to die for. The whole bakery reminds me of those bakeries in Europe, Germany, where I come from. I am really happy to have this bakery in my neighbourhood. I warmly recommend it to everyone.

I was recently walking on bloor-west village when i saw a lovely decorated bakery. It was around christmas time,so i walked in and i was impressed with the selection of breads and pastries. I bought a cheese bread and some spinach pastries. The prices are not bad and the girls were very helpfull and patient. One thing i noticed is they dont wear plastic gloves while they slice the bread. But i hope that was an isolated case. Next time i come to the area i will definitively come in again. Keep up the good work.
I am from a place in England called Wigan which is the Pie capital of the world ! I am new to the area and am craving a good meat pie. I came across this bakery - does it sell good meat pies ? Love to hear your thoughts !
First of all welcome to the area and I hope you like it.
As far as I'm concerned, this bakery is the perfect place to satisfy your craving for pies. They have fantastic turkey pies, with big turkey chunks, green peas, diced carrots and gravy to die for. You can also get small chiken pies, as well as beef and steak/mushroom pies. The prices are reasonable and the staff is very friendly.
Besides the meat pies this bakery on Bloor sells excellent fruit pies. Don't miss the chance to try the blueberry and strawberry rhurbarb pie. They also have little cherry and apple tarts that are very good and are always fresh. As for the holiday decorations, I agree with Elga, these guys are doing a great job making thier window inviting. I specially liked the way they did it for St. Valentine's day. They had little red and pink heart shaped boxes stuffed with small cookies, hanging down the window. It looked really pretty and made me get in and browse around.
You have to try their asiago/cracked papper bread. It's the best bread on Bloor. Also, jalapeno bread is to die for.
I am visiting in Toronto now and hope to order fruit and or pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving.
What do you have available? (first week of Oct.2011)
