Cake Opera Co.

Posted by Staff / Posted on January 12, 2011

Cake Opera Co. TorontoCake Opera Co. knows a thing or two about wedding cakes. Just one byzantine wedding cake from this Eglinton West shop is a dizzying sight, but a whole shelf will overwhelm. Which is probably why they also sell a tidy selection of macaroons and meringues, mostly meant to tempt in street traffic and win over locals with perfect, concentrated tastes and not just epic celebratory confection.

The cakes are not only beautiful works of art, but also taste amazing. Not only that but the girls who make them are incredibly sweet and go above and beyond to make the customers happy. And their macaroons...best I have ever eaten.

The cupcakes are $4.25 not $6, expensive yes but totally worth it for a present or housewarming gift. Macarons are pretty much on par with the rest of the city at $2.00. Packaging is beautiful too and totally worth the extra bit of coin to impress.

Cupcakes here are NOT worth $4.25. Friend had them for her wedding and they were not well received. Everyone commented on how dry they were. Probably baked the day before. NOT GOOD.

I absolutely love cake opera. It's my go to place when I'm having a bad day. The sweets are amazing and incredibly flavorful, not just sweet. The macaroons are by far the best in the city. You cannot beat cake opera for cupcakes in Toronto!
